Q: I currently own both of the mentioned stocks. With Trump's protectionist (tariffs) policies, do you expect any detrimental effects on the future performance of SHOP and SQ. Thank you. Bill.

Q: Good morning, In the communications sector my only current holding is GOOG, which is a half position. I previously held BCE and T but sold them in recent months. Would you be comfortable topping up GOOG to a full (5%) position for growth over the next 3-5 years? Are there other companies in the communications sector you would recommend, US or Canada? Thanks!
Q: Every time a company cuts their dividend, the stock suffers.....BCE should be no different and it becomes dead money for awhile..at what support price should I start a new position??...
Q: I have a very small position in Astera Lab. If it was you, would you be inclined to hold or sell half?
Q: Noticed this company has come up a few times in the Q&A the past several days. How much of this is a speculative buy vs. an investment? The only thing I can seem to gather here is that there is positive momentum, it was endorsed by Citron, members of 5i seem to own it, but it is still losing money.
Are there similarities to the dot com boom here? What makes this company buyable?

Q: Hello 5i
Please rank these companies for 2-3 year growth and in which order you would buy them if you had a fairly high risk tolerance.

Q: Would you please provide a list of companies domiciled in Canada but pay dividends in USD (for example: NTR, BN, BAM).
Q: If I borrow to invest in a Canadian company that does not pay dividends, but has the potential to pay dividends in the future,is the interest cost still tax deductible?
Q: NBIS has approximately 200M shares outstanding and about 61M of these shares have traded hands over the past 3 days ie 30% of the float. Given your experience, does this type of activity set up well for a stock moving forward?
Q: I had FOUR on my watch list, and was waiting for a pullback to $105. In the meantime I bought NBIS and caught some of the upward slide. Now with the uncertainty with FOUR, would you just hold NBIS, or also take a position in FOUR? Which do you consider the better quality company.
Q: Hi 5i,
I am new to investing and I know CSU is a favorite 5i pick. With the share price so high, do you think it would ever split? Or are fractional shares the best way for a smaller investor to invest?
Thanks

Q: Baytex dropped in excess of 7% today. While I expect there's more than one question on it, it'd be great to get your take on this. They announced their capital budget yesterday and it appears to be a story of moderate growth pushing out their debt target date to 2028. I am a bit surprised by the magnitude of the decline if this is the root cause and wondering if there is more to the story.
Please provide your read on the decline and whether this presents a buying opportunity, or should one move on from the company to better opportunities?
Thanks as always.
Dave

Q: big drop today, reaction to budget for 2025, oil prices or combination?

Q: I have full positions in all of these. All in the positive, no tax implications with selling. Do you see any unnecessary overlap here? If so, what would you sell and what would you keep? CRWD up 18%, DDOG up 47%, TTD up 355%.
Q: The CAD continues to weaken against the USD. Interest rates are declining in the US so I’m not sure why the USD is so strong. Trump’s tariffs are thought to be inflationary so possibly the market is already anticipating higher interest rates. Typically I am fully invested. Trying to decide if I should sell a portion of my USD stocks like NVDA to raise some cash. I agree that the tariffs are coming in spite of what we Canadians do to secure our border. May I have your thoughts on the USD and the tariffs?
Thanks,
Jim

Q: 5i has been positive on CAR.un for a long time. You are not alone. It seems to be a long term favourite of many if not most REIT analysts. I have held it since 2019 and am down about 9%. It is about $15 below its 2022 high and is trading at 2018 levels. I bought it for income. Other residential REITs have a superior distribution Every day I look at it and say to myself "why am I holding this." What do you see in the future of CAR.un that makes it a buy or even a hold? If I cash out, what would be your next best favoutite with a better distribution?
Q: I've been waiting for an entry point and noticed FOUR was down over 6% today. Any particular news, and would you consider this a decent time to buy?
Q: Please comment on Calian Groups latest financial results. Would you consider it as a Hold or Buy at this time Thanks … Cal
