Q: I've made the mistake in the past of selling a full position too early or holding too long. Now I'm trimming positions / rebalancing when appropriate. With some gains I want to make sure I'm diversified, is it a bad idea to throw gains into an S&P500 index or something to ensure gains over the long term. I'm 32 so many more years in the market.

Q: Would you sell Brookfield Infrastructure? If yes, is there a name you would replace it with?
Q: a number of questions related to the Slate family of companies.
1) What is the relationship to each other, and the purpose of the different Slate ticker symbols?
2) For SGR.un, are they impacted or could problems at SOT.un spill over to them?
3) For SGR.un their payout ratio is very high. i) have they shown forward finacials that imply this will come down? ii) if not do you have any data which suggests the dividend could be at risk? I am thinking of investing just for the dividend, and hope that the principal will simply hold where it is. Thanks

Q: What, if any, are the tax and dividend implications of having CDRs in a registered and a non- registered account?
Q: I'm certain that our family's cellphone experiences are not unique. Even though we own BCE in our combined portfolios, and our rationale for continuing to hold it was that the dividends would pay for the monthly bill, but enough is enough! Without warning, Bell Mobility increased the monthly fee by $4.00 for a very basic plan. (We are seniors who rarely need data since we rely on WiFi.) Our other cellphone had been on Virgin (owned by Bell) who did the same thing, although they did 'warn' us about the impending $4.00 per month increase. After researching options, we opted to switch to Freedom Mobile, since the price was a lot less, and the basic plans were much better than we had with Bell Mobility and Virgin. My point is this: BCE will, in my opinion, continue to languish due to their predatory price gouging. Yes, it's an oligopoly, but Freedom is rapidly increasing their customer base, while I suspect that Bell/Virgin will continue to lose customers.

Q: iTrade, In my RRSP/TFSA/Margin accounts, If I transfer US securities on my CAD side to my USD side, are there any charges?, I'm thinking not, since they are just moving it (journaling).
Can you please clarify it for me.

Q: What do you think of Oliveda International Inc. OLVI? Growth is spectacular, beta is negative?
Q: Hi Everyone at 5i!
With all the political complications in France right now, do you foresee any problems with TTE? It is a France based oiled gas company. I feel that the stocks in France may get a bit of a drubbing depending on the election results. I have a nice profit right now. Your thoughts??Hold?? Sell??
Cheers,
Tamara

Q: What are your thoughts on their June 6th report?
Seems the revenue is up and can't hurt getting the Florida Panthers contract.

Q: Good morning team, sorry, I should have been more specific in my last question. I’d like to purchase XLB and HDIV in either my tfsa and/or cash account. The goal is to produce income. Which account(s) are best suited for these ETFs? Too add to that, how do you feel about HDIV with about a 10% weighting?
Q: Would you agree that CSU is currently undervalued by 27% as indicated by the latest Wall Street Journal report?
Thx

Q: Hi,
I'm curious about a listing for Intel on the CBOE Canada (formerly NEO) exchange. Can you please tell me if it is the economic equivalent of INTC on the NASDAQ, and can it be bought in a Canadian dollar RRSP account? Are there currency implications an investor should be aware of?
Thank you very much. Michael

Q: Adding on to Julie’s currency questions and your response. I’ve come to understand when contributing US funds into a US TFSA the CRA requires it be recorded in CAD, which I understand means you need to take US funds and buy a US money market, place it in your CAD TSFA and then transfer to your US TSFA and finally sell. I was told not doing so will incur additional currency exchange costs.
Do I have that correct?
Thanks all.

Q: I will be providing some funds for my grandson to invest in the market. My grandson is 13 years old and has indicated that he has a moderate to aggressive investment risk level. He would like to invest funds and hold the investments for approximately 10 years. For a 10 year hold, would you recommend moderate to high risk companies/ETFs over low risk companies/ETFs? My grandson is considering investing in ETFs and/or individual companies. Please provide your top 5 moderate risk ETFs, top 5 high risk ETFs, top 5 moderate risk companies and top 5 high risk companies with a brief comment on each investment. Please provide a general comment on the typical performance of ETFs vs individual companies. Thank you
Q: There is a very new US ETF out which ,I believe has the ticker YMAX. It claims able to achieve a 40% yield ! What’s going on here ? Is this possible ? How safe is this product. I am very sceptical. I might as well sell everything and just hold this ETF (not). Thanks. Derek.
