Q: There are contradicting views on oil prices. My view is that as long oil supply stays the same as it is the US will continue to increase supply. OPEC will be forces to ramp up supply to counteract, driving prices down. If I’m right what effect will this have on gas produces esp in Canada? Will the abnormal cold spell in central Canada and the US increase the demand for gas . Who will be the major supplier Canada or US..Any particular company that benefits from this situation.

Q: In 2015, EFN issued a 4.25% debenture maturing in June 2020. In light of the company split, is this issued backed at all by ECN or just the assets of EFN?

Q: Could u name four or five Canadian companies that have the ability to raise dividends in a rising interest rate environment, thanks?
Q: Is Broadcom still a Singaporean company today? There has been reports in the news media around November 2017 that Trump announced "he" is moving it back to the USA. I hold a significant position in my RRIF. If it is a USA company today, I will have to pay U.S. estate taxes if I die. I will need to sell my position before that happens. Can you look into it's current home country? Is there a reliable website I can go and check the home country of Broadcom from time to time? Thanks.
Q: In your response to a previous question, I looked at ANET and am certainly impressed with it...I have a scoring process I use to assess stocks and it scored in the top three along with Kinaxis and Facebook.
However, it also has a short life as a public stock and has not been through a downturn. I'm less concerned about what the stock price would do through a serious downturn and more interested in management's ability to manage through it and for their product to remain in demand.
What are your thoughts on management and product "stickiness"/uniqueness? Who, on their board has lots of experience and respect?
Thx,
Cam

Q: Financials have a way of tanking hard during bear markets. I learned that first hand in 2009 when amongst the carnage I fortunately picked up several banks on the cheap. Now once again i'm looking at td bank for a solid Canadian stock purchase I regard this company as one of Canada's highest quality stocks. Ive read commentary from several sources to the effect that this stock is reasonably priced. And I certainly appreciate that it hasn't moved much this year and there are some tailwinds for financials currently. But bear markets seem to be the time to pick up bank stocks, not when everything seems rosy a decade into a bull market . With that said, would you add td here--or keep it on your watch list for the next severe correction. How would you personally play td.
Q: Perhaps you can help solve a small dilemna in our family. My wife believes I should invest in spinmaster and I believe Brp would be better. This is for a TFSA

Q: Hi Peter et al:
I am looking to invest some money in India. The two etf's that I was able to find are xid and zid. I am looking for mid to large cap value, however BMO states that zid is growth oriented and high risk. I am a subscriber to your etf branch but I couldn't find what I needed there. Also what would you recommend for etf exposure to Europe and the Euro, which I believe will appreciate relative to the cad.
Thanks,
BEN.

Q: What kinds of companies are likely to do well in an environment marked by rising rates and inflation? I’d like to make sure my investments keep growing. If you could offer a few names in Canada and the USA, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Q: With the CEO stepping down and the sale of the Co. I feel I have been snookered. Having waited these 2 years for the turn around to higher sales I thought I finally had a multi year horizon for growth. Between the CEO leaving and the sale is it even advisable to say no to the BO offer? I could only imagine a steep sell off with CEO gone and a successful No. Would like to hear your opinion.
