Q: Good afternoon,
I am looking for your opinion on FCR,un and a comment on its steady decline since the fall - would you purchase here ?
As well, would you buy the receipt as a means to enter the trade and receivee a short term lift in the yield until the installment is due?
Thank you,

Q: This stock is off - perhaps year end tax loss selling played into this? With things supposedly improving with USA vs China...could it be a moderate buy?
Q: CSU has seemed to have taken a hit the last few trading days. Is there any information on the company that would cause this? Thanks.
Q: Can I please get your opinion of this US REIT. Thanks !!
Happy New Year !!
Dave

Q: Hello,
The stock has been on fire recently,
Any reason behind it, besides buying after tax loss selling?
Thank you

Q: I am in my early 30’s. In terms of creating a strategy for buying and selling stocks shouldn’t I just always be buying stocks, even if the market goes down?
If I have a 30-year run way until I start withdrawing or using the funds wouldn’t it be best to just find great companies to average into?
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated in advance.
Thanks,
Dave

Q: Hi Peter and all 5i, Happy new year to all of you, and thanks for providing this wonderful service. I'm starting my RRIF withdrawals this year, and wanted to ask if you think my assumption for return on my portfolio is reasonable. The calculators that are online, require a percentage return, for each year. Presently, my RRIF is producing 4% in dividends, so I entered 6% in the return of the total portfolio. Portfolio is similar to your "Balanced". Do you think I'm being too conservative? Thanks
Q: For those concerned about the proceeds from the DRG.UN disposition, I can advise that TD Direct Investing changed the portion designated as dividends to ROC on Jan. 3rd.
Q: I am looking over VCI for yield. I see the last payment was a paltry .03! Compare this to a .13 payout earlier it seems a rather large fluctuation.
Is this strictly a quarter to quarter variation in the business or did they overpay early and cut back subsequently? I was hoping to see more stability in payout considering the lack of growth in the name. Could you give some colour on all this?
TIA

Q: I have read that investing in AMD seasonally ,from October to April generally results in great returns . I own NVDA which has finally come back to my purchase price due to the Trump/China war. The best performing names are semis that I haven’t heard of . Are Semiconductors best as investments or swing trades ? Do you feel that AMD, INTC will perform better than NVDA .
Q: What are the dividend tax credit consequences when I hold inter-listed Canadian stocks paying dividends in USD in an US rather than a Canadian margin account?
Thank you.
Werner
Thank you.

Q: I am wondering what your 5-6 best TFSA contrib ideas are for where we are in this market. I am kinda a guy who favours a thematic approach to investing as opposed to buying a roll-up-er like CSU or ATD. I'm looking to buy a name today that is good & getting better and hopefully one that will bear a lot of fruit in 3-5 years. Happy New Year!
Q: Hey Guys,
What are we to make of the constant negative headlines on some websites (zerohedge in particular) that talk about a recession coming this year?
I have been hearing in the headlines for years that there will be a recession...but it hasn’t happened yet.
I just don’t want to invest right before a major downturn like in 2008.....
What to do?
Thank-you.

Q: Hello Peter, I am thinking of shifting my portfolio to bit more defensive and generate some income too -
1. option 1 - To increase allocation to fixed income / bond type position.
2. option 2 - To buy more of defensive positions - like BNS, BCE, CU, FTS, MCD, HD, JNJ,
3. Counter position - that would have counter move to market drop.
Question - How would you approach / handle the situation and what would be your choice in each option.
Thanks

Q: Do you have historical data on how dividends issued by Canadian companies fared in past corrections. This question submitted by a person carrying too many banks, utilities etc.
