Q: I am low on industrials. Have RME 2.2, SIS 5.3, and WTE 2.8. What would you add to complement these three? I noticed the ticker for CERV is CVL on your coverage summary. Thanks!

Q: Hi, I have had this company for quite awhile and bought at 12.60 .
Is it a sell, or is it near the bottom,and hold on? I have only kept it this long because of the dividend. Or should i wait for Nafta to be settled?
If i sell what would you replace it with that pays 3+% dividend, in the same sector. I like to be payed while i wait with a little growth. Is New Flyer an option?

Q: Dennis Gartman has boldly declared a new bear market. What do you make of this opinion?

Assuming the market might decline for a good while, would you still recommend owning growth stocks like SIS, PHO, KXS, etc? How would you suggest positioning a portfolio to preserve capital during a bear market, but also take advantage of any opportunities? Thanks.

Q: Good afternoon,

I manage 2 portfolios. One is growth (Non registered and tfsa) and the other one is income (RRSP). The income portfolio is long term investments. I have stocks in every sector at equal weight (approx. 5%) except telecommunications in which I have no investment at all. Since the telecommunication sector has been dropping because of increases interest rates would still invest in them and if so, please, recommend the which stock would you buy?

Q: From your original background provided by 5i, am I correct that even if the WGL Holdings merger does not go through that holders of these subscription receipts will be guaranteed the issue price of $31?
I understand the last hurdles are expected to be resolved in Q2 of 2018 yet the ALAr almost hit its 52-wk low of $24.61 today, a 20.6% discount. Are investors concerned Alta Gas will default on their financial commitment?

Because of personal rules, I was forced to sell CGNX today when it dipped below -10% capital loss in my portfolio. I now have a chunk of U$ cash sitting in my acct and was wondering if you had any suggestions?

My current US Portfolio has

- Wells Fargo
- Time Warner
- BP

Q: KXS had a media day yesterday, do you know if they did an update on the contract with Toyota? To me that is likely a "company maker" deal. I have been after them for an update (since the deal was announced two months ago) but their IR department seems to think that is some sort of "state secret" and just read off a scripted non answer that said absolutely nothing when I contacted them.

Do you by any chance have more information to share on the Toyota deal? Thanks.

Q: Hello 5i,
In the recent sell off I sold enbridge for a tax loss and bought Algonquin as a replacement, thinking to sell it and buy enbridge again after thirty days. But, I have been thinking about keeping Algonquin in place of Endbridge. This because of possibly growing problems with pipelines and also the postive outlook for cleaner energy with Algonquin. I have been wondering, though, whether the absence of pipelines would be a big negative point for my utilities sector. So, I guess the question is whether clean energy utilities like Algonquin and Bep can replace the pipelines without too much loss in the utilities sector of one's portfolio?

Q: Hi All at 5i! With the tech market taking a bit of a hit and the DPO of Spotify coming out on Tuesday, should I wait to buy some or get in right at the opening bell? I am waffling here because I have never bought IPOs before and have heard that they can start strong, only to lose value within a few day or weeks. Spotify is a DPO, a bit of a different beast. If it were you ( with your cloudy crystal ball handy) how would you handle this?Buy the first day ,wait a while or gradually trickle in? This is for a long term hold and not quick profit.
