Q: Question about INSR- BMO Global Insurance ETF.
Surprised no one has asked out this one, I do not hold any Canadian Insurers directly but good exposure to Canadian and US banks.
This ETF has 10% exposure to Berkshire/ Buffett who has proven the long term benefits of owning insurance companies. What do you think about owning a product like this for long term growth is it worth it or better to put capital elsewhere-add to ZUB?
My main concerns with the space are: interest rates- how long/ high will they go, geography of the fund is it really better to have exposure to some of these countries, over complicating things in the portfolio- too many ETFs overlapping exposures, over exposure to 'financials' already etc...
Q: I've recently read that TCL.A is looking to expand the packaging aspect of its business through acquisition. Do you think SXP meets the criteria that might make it a likely target?
Thanks!
Q: Largely predicated on your guidance that the Canadian economy will likely grow at a slower pace - at least over the short term - than its US counterpart, I have filled up my TFSA and RSP with individual US stocks, XEF and VFV, while placing Canadian dividend-paying stocks in my cash account. Can you please comment on the tax implications of placing Canadian .UN stock (eg/ KWH.UN) in my cash account? (I understand these stocks are better placed in a registered account, but I have no room.) Can you also explain how the Foreign Tax Credit works and - in particular - the circumstances under which it can be claimed?
Q: I asked you about how sustainable the dividend was of abt and I did not get an answer.
Also you mentioned that you talked to management.....what did they say?
Q: Good Morning,
I am looking at adding one of the three above companies to my kids RESP account.
I currently hold BNS, CSH.UN, FFH, GC, MG, OTEX & PHO in this account.
Which one of the three would you recommend at this time?
Thank You
Q: Question on RESP
We have 8K in Cash now in our childs RESP and are looking for suggestions for long term options. He's 2 yrs old currently, so a long term play and we will be steadily adding over time.
