Q: Would you still rate TMA as a "B-" given the weakness (economy, forecasted earnings, etc)
Q: I've been considering buying IGM since you added it to the income portfolio, but wonder if it would make more sense to add PWF? I gather PWF would be more stable and participate in IGM's growth, but at a lower yield. Would that make sense for an income oriented portfolio, or would you just stick with IGM?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: whats your take on the div deal, it seems good, would you buy the issue. dividend about 8 per cent or thereabouts.
Q: Regarding Carl's (I think) question on MacDonald Dettwiler. Scotia, today, lowered their 2016 and 2017 eps estimates from $7.14 to $6.83 and from $7.91 to $7.66. They also lowered their price target to $98 from $102.
The Scotia report recognized the high quality of MCD's business, backlog and earning's growth but the above adjustments were made in light of current challenges in the current satellite market.
Only post if you find helpful.

Q: earlier today, July 23, your response concerning current valuation, etc., indicated your interest and experience with U.S. companies (earlier Fireye and others), will you be putting out a list of U.S. stocks - I currently hold only U.S. ETFs and would prefer individual stocks -thanks as always.
Q: Can you clarify what the effects are and what you expect they will be on a mostly Canadian portfolio given that the U.S. interest rate is expected to increase soon and that the Canadian rates have just been decreased. I was expecting Canadian dividend stocks to strengthen given a lower interest rate here, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Certainly utilities like IPL and ENB are weakening (but perhaps that's more to do with the perception of them as energy stocks). Other Canadian dividend paying companies also seem to be weaker, such as banks. Does the U.S. interest rate always have the strongest effect on Canadian stocks, no matter that the Can interest rate goes in the opposite direction ?

Q: Good morning, I believe you are familiar with this US company, Align Technology. Current thoughts on this one, patent issues, valuation, earning tonight? I'm up nicely, and considering selling prior to earnings after the bell. I'd appreciate your current comments, and I thank you!

Q: please compare these including debt/cashflows and your 1-2-3 preference in this market
Q: I hold VIP.UN-T as well as AV.UN mainly for income Since 2008. I have small capital gains in each, however the income has been steady. I wonder if there should be any concern and should I continue to hold these investment in light of the fact that the manager is planning to convert VIP.UN from a closed end fund to a mutual fund and the manager itself is experiencing some issues which include recent losses of clients as well changes at the top.
Q: Hi 5i: I've been considering a position in the tech security sector. Do you have any advice you could proffer on PANW (I know you don't specifically cover US stocks)? Any other suggestions for stocks in this sector? Many thanks.
Q: Could you please give me your advice on Gibson Energy GEI. I bought this stock over 2 years ago at $22. Could you tell me how much is owned by insiders? Should I sell and move on or wait until Aug 6 when they report. I already owe IPL and ENB in this space. If I sell was considering moving into TCN.
Q: I have been investing on my own for about 25 years. I have lived through major down turns and other calamities and am happy with my results over time.
My question is: Considering the Canadian $ discount to the US can last for years but not necessarily so I need to consider a suitable hedging strategy to avoid the potential loss of value in the 40% of my portfolio that is presently in US Stocks.
I prefer not to use ETF's if possible however it may in my opinion be necessary to convert to hedged ETF's at the moment I believe that there is a definite long term trend towards the Canadian $ once again.
Your thoughts please.
Thanks
