Q: Gentleman,
I am looking after my mothers investment account which is currently valued at 400K. She is 75 and does not currently require the funds. I have 40K invested in each of the following ETF's - VFV, XSP, VVL, VGRO, XWD, VEE, XIN and 100K in VBAL and 20K in cash. Would you make any changes to my current ETF allocation? Will also be adding 100-200K to portfolio what would you recommend?
Always appreciate your advice,
Steve
Q: I am looking for a safe investment for a 15 to 20 year period. A kind of investment that I can sort of forget about for 10 to 15 years. I have noticed that gold has gone up 288% in the last 16 years. Would it be a good idea to invest 25 to 30% of my portfolio in gold bouillon for this kind of investment? What about any other precious metals worth looking at?
Q: Good day! I have all of my stocks in Canadian dollars, except one position in US dollars, Blackberry. Looking at the recent drop in Facebook, I am wondering if a switch to FB might provide more short-term (1-2 years) growth for this one position. Your thoughts?
Thank-you.
Q: Please your comments on recent results & signed agreement for 10k Mobile-10T solutions unit.Does management still own some 30%?Thanks for u usual great services & views
Q: I was surprised that RY only increased its dividend by 4%. A sign of slower growth to come for this bank in particular? The other major banks seem to be increasing at a higher rate.
Q: Thank you very much for your answers and service. You has been helping me in my investment decisions quite a lot.
I have noticed that responses to questions seems to be variable at times. It seems that some answers have a different approach than others. I am not saying that responses have been wrong of conflicting, just different. Different perspectives are indeed helpful, but can also be confusing.
My question is: How many people do you have answering questions? Would it be possible to sign the answers so that we know who is answering? I am sure each person has a slightly different view. All views are valuable, but knowing where the answer is coming from would also be valuable.
Q: Good Morning!! I know that 5i really likes CSU; so with the recent pull back is now a good time to start a position. 3-5% position now or average in?
Q: Hi Team,
When I took a position on Google in early 2013, it represented in C$ about 5% of my portfolio. Now with stock price appreciation over the years and a much weaker C$, my GOOGL holding now accounts for 14% of my portfolio.
I would like to get your advice on if I should take some money off the table or just sit tight and hang on to my current position given that my risk tolerance level is high.
Cheers
Q: Hi 5i, You used to like this stock, what happened? When are they going to declare their earnings? Shall I sell this equity? Is there another gold stock I can replace it with? Thanks in advance, Catherine
Q: Hello
May I have your views on FN. I have owned it for some time and I am worried that increases in interest rates may cause a decline in the share price
Cheers
Q: I agree with your stated hypothesis that there will be further and probably significant consolidation in the Cannabis Industry.
Weed of course is leading the way and has made a significant move. Can you suggest 2 or 3 other cannabis stocks that you would think have the highest probability of being acquired and why you chose these.
Q: Recently Benj Gallagher was on Mike Campbell’s Money Talks. I don’t subscribe to the idea of being a contrarian just for the sake of being different, but I do believe there can be great buying opportunities for pretty much anything when it becomes oversold or out of favour. Benj mentioned that Quarterhill and GMP were two of his favorites looking forward. This was based on suffering substantial drops recently, having little to no debt, good cash flow and reserves and good management. Do you agree that these two meet those criteria? what do you think about them looking forward? Even if they rebounded close to their 52 week highs it would mean substantial gains.
Thanks
Q: Hi, I'm considering purchasing Casa Systems (CASA) for the telecom sector - I currently have no telecom exposure. Looking for a stock with growth potential. Can you please provide your advice on this company?
Q: Company gave the higher input cost and transportation as the reason of lower profit in 2Q-2018 and the stock fall 15% to 18%. Is this a concern for future or there is some thing more which pushed the price lower? Do you recommend adding to the position? It weights less than 1% of my portfolio.
