Q: I would like to have your opinion about this pharmaceutical company that has just launched an inhaled form of insulin.
Thanks

Q: Hello Folks:
Even with the down-slide, we have have done pretty well with our hefty position in Gilead Sciences (20%). With their future profitability reduced somewhat by competitors,
would you stick with them or perhaps look for another name in U.S. health care sector or perhaps you could recommend an ETF. We are happy to continue with Gilead if you think best.
Thanks for your great service

Q: Hello, am considering a couple of US listed socks, one of which is NXPI which has done well the past year. Is it too late to get in? The other is CNV, an e-commerce company which Barron's in January reported is given an overweight recommendation by Morgan Stanley. Feel free to treat as two questions. Thanks to all at 5i for the tremendous service. Bill
Q: Hello,
I have a question in two parts. I know it's hard (if not impossible) to predict where the price of oil (and as a result our dollar) is going in the short term. Having said that it seems that oil has been stabilized some what and a drop to 30$ (for any long time) in not likely. With that in mind:
1. Is it still worth it exchanging C$ to $US at current prices to buy US equities? and if yes which ones for a 2+ years hold on a non registered account.
2. Some energy stocks doubled since lows in December. Are there any that you would pick today (that even if oils goes down for a couple of months) will not go broke and have the best chance to multiply.
Thank you
M

Q: Hi,
After the recent miss on earnings, do u think I should continue to hold and wait for better days given 6% annual growth in China? I am about 12% under water and have a substantial holding, about 15% of portfolio. I know some are suggesting shorting it which worries me.

Q: Does this look like a buying opportunity for this co.?
Are there any other car suppliers that might complement this co or stand on their own.
Many thanks.

Q: Hi team. Thanks to your guidance and the present market, I have been able to shave a few of my equities, that are from your PFs, and am ready to purchase more U.S. I am thinking of this ETF. I understand you prefer unhedged. I have Canadian $ which I suppose I can convert. But having read answers on these ETFs am still confused. Which of the 2 is preferable? Is it best to convert my Can $ to US $ and then buy? (which one of the 2?) Or is that a waste of time and should I purchase with Canadian $ ?(again which one?) I am sorry for the confusion. Thank you as always for your sage advice.
Q: The question about CXI and reporting got me to checking my portfolios. Do I have to fill in Form 1135 for ETFs based on the S&P 500, like VFV and XSP, which trade on the TSX? What about EWWS and EWU which trade on an American Exchange?
Q: I hold VTV.US...it is a vanguard value ETF. It has done very well by me...any thoughts on VTV? Any other US ETFs you might suggest I look at.
Q: Shire has offered me $46US per share. Would you recommend sell or hold? My position is small.
Sorry to ask something outside your specified scope but, as an inexperienced investor, an advice is very welcome.

Q: In reply to an earlier question, it was stated that earnings missed badly. Please clarify. Expected earnings was $0.86 versus actuals of $0.89 (both expected and actuals were adjusted, e.g. for the Shire break fee, etc., which is reasonable). Also, given the share price drop, would you now rate it a buy? Thanks.
Q: I have held this stock for many years and it has performed very well. The company has recently indicated that 2015 revenues and earnings will be lower due to the strong US$. What is your opinion of this stock - would you advise selling now, and if so what healthcare companies do you recommend?
Thanks
Geoff
Thanks

Q: I just sold IBM and GE, Otherwise little US exposure. Also, I also have limited exposure to Canadian oil about 4%. One consideration for US is Vanguard US dividend Appreciation (hedged). They do have a non hedged. Since I only have 4% oil exposure maybe BTE or something else. BNS or TD is another thought since banks are down. Your thoughts would greatly appreciated.
BTW great job.

Q: I am always looking for better entry points into water related stocks. They generally trade at a premium. MWA recently dropped after earnings. I appreciate any insight you can offer on MWA and, as always, appreciate your efforts.
Q: It took a big fall after the quarterly report this week. I see BMO downgraded the stock around concerns of increased competition. Looks like an interesting valuation with nice dividend yield at current price. My concern is that it's very dependent on one or two drugs so I'm a bit nervous in buying. Thoughts? Thanks
Q: May I please have your opinion on Proctor & Gamble for income with a 2-3 year timeframe. Thank-you.
Q: Assumption: US Dollar will remain strong and go up versus the CDN dollar and other currencies.
What is a good U.S. stock that you recommend that also happens to do most of it's business in the US thereby protecting itself from foreign exchange losses?

Q: Recently read that a special dividend will be given to owners of shares as of Feb 11. I do not own this stock at present but would love this this $5. gift. What will happen if this stock is purchased at current price of $14. Will the stock go down to accommodate this div.
Q: For U.S. exposure I have concentrated primarily on two ETFs, VIG and COW. I am thinking of adding IGM. Please provide your thoughts on the latter. Many thanks.
