Q: My discount broker provides the following comments under a comment heading for clients buying corporate bonds of Canadian banks:

"Bail In" or "Bail-In -debt"

Can you please explain why some bonds of Canadian banks have such a comment attached to them while other bank bonds do not?
Thanks

Q: Good day, With the big drop in SVB today, would you see this as a good entry point for a long-term investor? How do you see it’s growth potential going forward? Assuming it’s a buy at this level, would you see it as worth buying if I already own JPM?
Thank you for your insights, Doris

Q: I recently read that Wealthsimple was firing staff and cutting back on some services. I do use Wealthsimple Trade and have been very happy with its simplicity and ease of use. Should an investor be concerned about bankruptcy for a firm like Wealthsimple as opposed to investing/trading with a bank like National Bank or one of the big banks ?

Q: Hello I am considering buying SLF at these levels $57 to $59 with a dividend yield of 4.75%.
I want to hold these shares for a minimum of 3 years, but more likely into the 5 year range.
I know this is a difficult question to ask, but based on your experience, how much downside % do you think this stock has?
I would like to buy in allotments over the next 3 months.
Suggestions, thank you.

Q: I recent sold UPST for a tax loss and purchased AFRM, it has been 30 days now - would you rebuy UPST or would you purchase another in the same sector with the same risk profile and upside potential?

Thanks for your service!

Q: I had thought rising rates would be good for insurance companies, but they're certainly not reflecting that. SLF only has a P/E of 8.85 but it's still going down quickly. Great West has done no better. How do insurance companies perform in a rising rate/inflationary cycle?
