Q: Hi 5I,
I need some clarification on your view of Syz. On Jan 29 a question from Rod on Syz top up yielded a "hold" response, and same type of question asked by Pierre on Jan 28 yielded a cryptic "fine" response. I too am looking at adding to my position (within target %) and came across an article in today's Globe stating CEO bought over $300k of shares in January. It would be great if your answer could delve into the potential of adding too/holding this company for 5+ years.
Thanks,
Chris M.

Q: Looking thru your Q&A on NFI you appear to be cautious wrt its prospects, While in recent days NFI has announced several contracts - two on 30/01 and one 21/01. Your notes precede the last two. What impact do you expect these contracts to have on NFI earnings and outlook and is their announcement is indicative of a trend? Thank you

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,
Most recently, Peter, you're quoted in the StockChase website as follows:
"They have done nothing but disappoint for the last couple of quarters. He kept it because the valuation changed and no one expects anything from this company. He is going to give it a couple more quarters."
Two even more negative sentiments were recently expressed on the same website:
"Their competitors have an electric bus and NFI is struggling with that transition away from fossil fuel buses. A value trap."
"He would not be a buyer today because there is a pending transition to electric buses. Municipalities are holding back until they become more main-stream. Wait one to two years to see larger orders."
We're down 45.7% in a TFSA, and wondering if 5i agrees that the electric bus situation is hurting NFI, and what to do in a couple of quarters if 5i drops it.
Thanks for your insight.

Q: Do these companies offer similar services? Over the short term, say one year, which company has the most potential for capital appreciation. Which company is riskier? As always, thanks for your much appreciated guidance.
Q: Good afternoon, I have these stocks in my TFSA. BCI has been flat over the last few years and PHO is down 18%. Is it time to let either of these go and replace them with something else? Suggestions?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: Hello 5I Team
TD Waterhouse stopped coverage on GSY only because their analyst quit. Are you aware of any other issues other than coronavirus that might affect the stock and account for the recent decline in share price.
Thank You
Clarence

Q: I hold CGX. What happens if I do absolutely nothing? Must I actively sell the stock before the deal closes? What is the final date for actively selling the stock if this is what I must do? Thank you for your reply.

Q: I initiated a position in this stock about 2 weeks ago along with 8 other names in about equal weighing. With your recent drop from the portfolio I’m okay to take a small loss and want to replace it. What are 1 or 2 stocks would you recommend for growth -
Q: Your comments on its results reported today .thank you. Ian
Q: I am trying to understand these 2 stocks in your portfolios.
We have DOO which is growing at 20-25% , future earnings expected around $4.40/year with a forward PE of 15.
On the other hand, we have DSG growing the same but with a forward PE of 80 and future earnings expected around $.80/year.
Why is DOO not valued like DSG and/or vice versa?
Why does DSG have a ridiculous multiple of DOO?
Every Q DSG does .11 and the stock price is $60!!
Remember, they are both growing at 20-25% / year.
Does DSG merit such valuation just because they are in tech?
Really doesn't make sense to me.
Thanks

Q: Hi there. I was looking at your CAE report, and I was curious about how you develop your Peer Based Target Price which appears to be a weighted blend of the Fwd P/E, EV/EBITDA, FWD EV/EBITDA, P/B Ratio, Price to Sales Ratio, Fwd Price to Sales Ratio, Dividend Yield and possibly the historical relative averages. How do you determine the best metrics to place weight on? Does this view change depending on the subindustry?
Thank you!
Thank you!
Q: LSPD previous high was in August of last year at a price near $50. Recently there has been positive news, such as M and A, expanded offices and services in Toronto and Vancouver. They are expanding the platform and business using LSPD grow significantly more than business that have other platforms.
When the price goes and stays above $50 should I add to my position for a long term hold?
Clayton

Q: I own CSU, DSG, ENGH, OTEX, SHOP, LSPD, KXS and STS and was thinking of adding GIB.A once the stock settles down a bit. I'm looking to increase my tech sector . Would you add to the existing holdings or would you recommend adding GIB.A to take advantage of the recent pullback?
Thanks for your service.

Q: You continue to comment favorably about this company but they never make money. Latest quarter was a loss of $2.7m - up from $1.5m a year ago. Why do you never mention this? If you take out Goodwill and Intangible assets the equity is a negative $144m. I know you will say a lot of this is because of acquistions but if they can not make those turn a profit why do you give them such good ratings an commentary?
