Q: Hello 5i team
I am down 72% on ALA in my RSP and. 54% down on VET in my RSP
My ALA is a huge position and my loss is over 10,000 . My RSP strategy was “buy and hold” , and I was previously murdered in oils in 2014. I am 69 years old and won’t really rely on my RiF but it really bothers me to take such a loss that can’t be declared. They both pay dividends , but can one expect that they will ever turn around ? I could use a suggestion ... the last time I looked at my RSP I was so ashamed that I bought Shopify as a crap shoot ... turned out to be a good move. Thank you

Q: Good afternoon
I seem to recall that one of your answers to portfolio balancing for ones entire portfolio outside of Canada could be up to 40% US and 10% or so Emerging and ? Europe. I'm approximately 30% US and thinking of going to 35 or 40% due to the strength of the US. May I have your comments on this strategy at this time for a 3 to 5 year time horizon.
much thanks

Q: I think I recall reading a Q and A about companies that have issued shares very seldom. However, I wasn't able to find the question thru text search. Could you provide the names again? Thank you.

Q: I have been out of the loop on financial news for the past six months or so, and so am a bit unfocused on current news.

What are your thoughts on adding NVDA at this time (to appropriate weighting, etc.)? [I reviewed some Q&A on it, but am not clear as to why the latest downdraft on this company is occurring. Perhaps I didn't go back far enough.] If this is not a solid pick at this time, would you please suggest your favourite in the sector, for a 5% position? Canadian or US -- I have no preference, other than it be Tech. Thanks!

Q: Due to health I have been forced into early retirement (51) with no pension. I need a 5% return to live off of my savings. I am presently well diversified 75% CAD dividend companies and fixed income in my non registered account and 25% of my total savings are in registered accounts which follow your balanced portfolio along with GOOG, TEAM, SQ, BOX for US exposure (prob not enough eh?). My gut is telling me I should get rid of the growthy stocks and stick to safe dividend companies but my experience says I should leave it alone as over the long term the balanced portfolio has done quite well.
I would appreciate any and all input you can offer (don't be afraid to hurt my feelings;).

Brian
