Q: I manage finances for my 93 year-old mother-in-law (she is demented but fortunately still a nice lady). Her investments are mostly dividend-paying stocks. I do need to raise some capital for her care. I am hesitating between selling shares in K-Bro Linen versus Boston Pizza Royalties IF. I would appreciate your opinion. Thank you.

Q: with the approval of the pacific northwest LNG pipeline would this benefit ENB or other pipelines more? or are there natural gas stocks close to the pipeline that could benefit when completed?

Q: I really enjoyed your presentations at the World Money Show. Many people were talking about ETF's at the show this year. I was thinking about buying a percentage of ETF's in my portfolio. I'm with TD bank and I know they are very new again to this.
I'm a 45 years old and have mostly CDN equities.
I heard that you only need 3 or 4 ETF's to balance out. I would consider putting 20% in ETF's

Q: Hello 5i,
I have had a bit of VPL:US for awhile and am just beginning to see the light of day on it. It is not really something that I want to keep, I don<t believe. But, I was wondering whether, after waiting so long for it to come back, whether it might be too early to sell. Also, what would be a good replacement? I already have VWO. I would rather go wider in geography rather than too specific.

Q: When calculating sector distribution I include all equities, both foreign and domestic. Have I missed the point, since sector correlation will be different overseas relative to US/Canada, except for cases such as commodities that are global in nature. With that in mind, how should I break down the analysis? 1. Domestic, US and international each separately, 2. combine US/domestic and treat international separately, 3. don't bother tracking international sector allocation (mostly market ETFs). I tend to use US companies to fill sector gaps where Canada is weak (e.g. health care).I also wonder how to treat the US megacap multinationals.

Q: Hi Guys,

I thought in this new world of media, content would be king and DHX Media has it in spades. The stock has been weak and getting weaker every day for over a month, what would account for this. Also do you see this company getting taken out by a larger player like a Disney or Viacom or is it too small?
