Q: Question on Boeing. Christmas eve it was under $300 without the threat of mass cancelations and potential litigation staring at it. With all of the uncertainty ahead of it how the heck is it holding at $370? It seems to be bouncing down and hovering there as though supported by something. What's your take?

Q: I currently hold both.

Re ECN.PR.A
1. Reset Dec. 5 , 2021
2. Rate cannot be less than 6.5%
3. Protection against rising rates, but with rates neutral and/or falling there is an increase likelihood of redemption at $25.
4. Price of Pref. Has trended along with ECN. Cibc has a target of $5.00
5. Reset at 5 yr Canada plus 5.44 (1.523 + 5.44 = 6.963). My book value is $23.57 for a yield of 6.9%
6. Relative to ZPR the price has dropped.
7. I’ve been unable to see the trend on volume.
Question is to make sense of all this, Sell hold or sell half position and keep the cash for other opportunities.

Q: We have a diversified RIF and are now in our 70s . We have 6 ETFs and have $20,000.00 invested in VE. We have equities invested across all sectors some sectors a higher percentage than others. Do you feel it is necessary to have monies invested in Europe when we could obtain better income investing in possibly Bonds or preferred shares. Safety and Income are important now to us . Any recommendations.

Q: Hello there,
I am helping a friend set up the Smith Manoeuvre to accelerate his mortgage re-payment and invest in a solid blue chip portfolio of dividend stocks , interest tax deductibility etc..I am trying to create a solid stock portfolio that can weather any storm in the long term and stocks that should always recover through the ups and downs of the markets. I'm looking for 10-12 names, well diversified, targeting around 5% yield give or take a bit but 5% average would be good to cover the interest cost, trying to make this cash flow neutral.
I came up with a few names and the yields they currently offer.

ENB 6.00%
FTS 3.65%
SLF 3.90%
TD 3.90%
BMO 3.90%
AQN 4.55%
FSZ 6.70%
H 4.51%
VNR 5.10%
CGX 7%
PWF 5.79%
SIA 4.95
TRP 4.95%
I would like to add some of the Brookfield companies, BIP.un and/or BEP.un but because of their non-corporate structure they wouldn't qualify for the dividend tax credit, same with CSH.un.
Any other ideas or suggestions that I have overlooked ?

Q: Good day,

Could you tell me which sector this company belongs to ? According to TSX, it is a consumer cyclical but the company describes itself as tech/computer services.
And what is your assessment for this stocks which appears undervalued, has momentum and has tripled in one year ? Would you buy it at this point for further growth ? Is there any worthwhile competition in its field which would be better ?

I'm trying to transition her to more ETF's reduce some volatility and maintain some growth. What is your suggestion[s] for an additional ETF to complement these holdings?

Q: I had been using BTO as a stock to swing trade and sometimes day trade based on the swings in gold. I have done well with this strategy but after the most recent quarter have lost some confidence in this stock. I am looking for a replacement. Can you please recommend 2 gold stocks that meet my criteria: sufficient liquidity for me to easily move in and out of $80k positions, solid overall financial and production metrics and solid enough overall that if I need to hold the position for a few months I can be comfortable knowing I have a solid company. I have no current gold exposure.
