Q: Can you explain how the over the counter market works? I was looking at the price for Reliq on TSXV and then on the over the counter market, there was a .50 cent difference in the prices when I was looking. Thanks
Q: Hello 5i
With your previous comments about TV, missed on other metrics, do you see this lower price as a buying opportunity or does it have a chance of breaching another support level at 1.23 to 1.25?
Looking to buy/add given the amount in portfolio has decreased with the price decline.
From a small cap perspective, given current market and business environment, would you choose to add to another name before adding to TV?
Q: With high debt being a concern for all companies, I thought today's news was reasonably positive but it appears that the market disagrees. As always, I would appreciate your analysis.
Tricon Capital Group Inc. (TCN-T) says it has an agreement to sell the portfolio of 14 manufactured housing communities, including its Tricon Lifestyle Communities investment vertical to an institutional investor. "The sale of our TLC manufactured housing communities portfolio represents the next meaningful step along our stated plan to simplify Tricon's business," said Gary Berman, CEO of Tricon Capital. "We intend to use the net proceeds largely to pay down our corporate credit facility, reducing our overall debt level and creating additional flexibility for future investments. Going forward, we will focus our growth efforts on our core investment verticals, where we have a clear path to scale, leadership and attractive long-term returns."
In a TFSA, if only one could be purchased today, which stock would you choose: PHO or RHT? Would you be comfortable with a full position for the chosen stock?

Q: I am moving many of my fixed income investments from bond funds to preferred shares with a minimum guaranteed rate (yes I know the dividends are not guaranteed). I am trying to decide between TRP.PR.J and TRP.PR.K. Currently J yields 5.22% while K yields 4.73%. It appears J is the better choice. Do you agree? When would K be preferred if at all?
Thanks to member Walter, I have looked at a website that lists the U.S. preferred shares that trade on an American exchange. I realize that while U.S. stocks are not your focus are there any preferred shares that trade on an American exchange that you would recommend for an income investor? Are these p/s any more complicated than ones issued by Canadian companies ? I believe there are some companies on the TSX that have issued preferred shares that pay in U.S. $ and still are eligible for the Dividend Tax Credit. Are you familiar with any of these names?
Q: stock price is down over 8% this morning!
cannot find specific info for the carnage...(gold price was up earlier)
are you aware of why the downturn?
Q: With your answer to a Q on ENB as time being on the buyers side I put a low ball bid in for some shares. Could you give me a list of 'safe' stocks (i.e. like ENB and not KWH.UN for example) with great yields that one could put stink bids on? I will assume in your answer that putting ENB over ENF(e.g.) indicates preference of the safer investment vehicle.
Q: I bought a 1/2 position in BUS a year ago and it is now a 1/4 position. It looks better now than then and I am thinking of increasing back to a 1/2 position rather than selling or holding such a small position. What your thoughts.
