Q: A friend of mine who wanted to access the cash portion of his portfolio was told by his advisor that that the cash was part of a "sleeve" and therefore could not draw on the cash that showed in his statement. He ended by having to sell some of his stocks to get the cash he needed.
Can you please explain what is "sleeve investing" and why he did not have access to the cash portion of his portfolio?
Thank you
Q: hello 5i:
I'm looking at adding to my OTEX holding (conservative investor, underweight tech and financials). Open Text is not rated. What approximate grade would you give it today, and do you consider it buyable at the present price?
thanks

In regard to my last question the weightings were mentioned but not very clearly.... just to clarify ALA: is 4.47% wt SGY:is 1.55% wt Tog is 1.97% wt. The weightings of all the other stocks very from the highest,TD @9.7 the lowest of 3.29 for CHS.UN. The rest are fairly close in between.
Not sure if this clarification changes your answer.
Q: Hello, Exchange has been dropping very significantly due to a short attack. Do you feel this company is fundamentally sound
or is there some merit in the short position.
Thank you,
Alan
Q: Hi. I currently hold a 5% weighting in each of the above companies. I would like to reduce my exposure in this sector to 10%. Which would you think best to unload... or would you suggest reducing bits of each.
Q: Hello Peter et al,
I have a half position in both Enghouse and Open Text and want to consolidate into one position. Which would you keep for growth and why?
Thanks for your help

Q: I am 68 years young and presently have ENB and am looking into more dividend stock and wondering if I would be better to sell and buy ENF? If you think I shouldn't sell ENB then I have cash to buy ENF.
Q: Do you consider downturns like today a buying opportunity or do you think the good times may be in the past. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks
Q: I wanted to add a comment to a question asked recently about Global Water Resources. The fall in the stock price is almost entirely related to the Cdn/US$ exchange rate as the main listing is now on the NASDX, and the US listing trading closer to 52 week highs. With the low liquidity on the TSX, the company may chose to get rid of the Canadian listing and stick with the NASDX which has better daily volume.
Q: The 8% gain of the Cdn dollar over the past few weeks could have a huge impact on stocks like NFI and others in a negative way.
With the Cdn dollar on a terror lately what sectors if any would stand to gain from this currency move and what would be two individual stocks that you think could gain by the US/Cdn exchange rate moving closer to par.
Always appreciate your perspective.
Thank you
Terry
Q: Hi 5i team:
after reading a TD report I bought some shares in march and price has climbed since then, should I sell it ?, or it is worthwhile to keep it ?

Q: When a correction (5-15% downturn) is in process, how can you tell that it is simply a correction as opposed to a bear market (greater than 20% downturn)? What metrics do you use to tell the difference between a correction versus a bear market?
