Q: Folks i'm assisting my daughter in deciding how to allocate some cash in the market around $50K. This is new to her so she is as expected very conservative at the moment but wants to garner better income than a savings account. Thses funds are in a TFSA. I was thinking maybe suggesting 30% in SPLT, 30% in CBIL, and the rest in ZLB,XEI/XIU. Wondering what your suggestion might be.
Q: Your thoughts on earnings and guidance please. Is this falling into a value trap that at least on analyst has suggested?
Q: Thx for CLS I bought last May when the CEO and CFO were buying 100,00 share purchases. Do you see any companies with insider buying especially by the CEO and CFO that 5i would see as significant? I was thinking ENB. I prefer companies with a slightly larger market cap.
Thx

Q: Everyone, what is your opinion on US large tech going forward. Apple, Amazon,, Google, Microsoft, Nvda etc. Clayton
Q: Magna, Parkland, and Premium Brands have seen significant declines, making them look like attractive dividend stocks with yields around 4%. What do you think about buying them for their dividends? Is there a risk that these stocks could fall further? Which one would be the best to buy for its dividend and potential recovery, and which one should I avoid? Please rank them.
Q: Thoughts on their quarter? Has there been much insider buying over the past 6 months?

Q: Good afternoon - the recent runup in equities has me looking to re-balance and add more bond exposure. I currently have positions in XLB, XBB and HYG. Can you suggest bond positions ( likely ETF's) in Canada and the US, please? Just add to the existing Canadian positions? What about HYG? Time to move?
Many thanks

Q: I'm trying to find reasons not to buy a little taste of this. With all of the oockroaches etc hiding here, what are the odds of a takeover? Would another company step in here and purchase and if so, what could a projected sale price look like? At what point does the risk/reward make sense if a buyout is unlikely?
My thought is that if the company/governance is terrible but the business is excellent there has to be a price that makes sense but admittedly I am just looking for a reason to do it!

Q: Hello 5i
I wonder whether you could provide some clarity on the question of sectors. According to 5i my sectors are out of whack. But, I am not buying real estate because I consider my house to represent that. My financials don't include any banks but BrK.B, CSU, etc. and it is overweight. But, I don't really see these companies as primary financial companies. Anything that you could add to this that would clarify the situation? Also, I was wondering whether you break down eft's into sectors or stocks on your portfolio tracking and analysis tool?
thanks

Brookfield Corporation Class A Limited Voting Shares (BN)
Q: Please rank BN, KKR, BX and APO, in order of preference and what would be a good entry point.
Q: Explain to me, when you tell a client to take a half of a position, how does that work? Say you want to invest $10,000 in a stock, do you buy $5000 say today and than what do you do? Buy the remainder when the stock goes down, or when the stock has gone up.
Thanks Again

Q: Should I hedge my EAFE ETFs considering that their holdings are from multiple countries? I am considering either XEF or ZDM? they seem pretty much the same except one hedges to CAD and one does not.
Q: Many updates since the last review of this company. With new shares being issued at $4.75 I would hope this provides a level of support, but not sure I should be holding hoping to see results vs selling now after a nice run and waiting for the results first and then reinvesting.
Q: Ignoring portfolio weightings, Can you give some advice on when to sell your winners? For example MFC has had a nice run. It seems fully valued. I am an income investor and am consider shifting to SLF for no other reason than the pick up in yield. There are other ‘winners’ I have that appear to be fully valued and I could shift elsewhere to boost income. What are the right things to consider re timing on when to sell?
