Q: I just started a new portfolio few months ago targeting for 1 to 2 years, brought Air Canada @ $21 with 2/3 of the funds , and LSPD @ $35 with 1/3 of the funds.
The reason I brought them because the tradition of fundamental concept keep telling me of the book value for AC is near 1, which should be more safe. The book value of LSPD is 7 which is high risk, therefore I divided portion due to the risk. Do you think my concept is out dated, perhaps I should change my mind to adjust my portions?
However, I am so upset for the performance of Air Canada. Should I sold half of the AC to buy other stock instead, any suggestion is welcome. I don't mind to keep for 3 years, but just worry that I may missed out the opportunities cost.

Many thanks.

Q: I am a long term CSU shareholder. I have full confidence in management but less confidence in their growth prospects at this stage. The types of slow or no growth software businesses that they acquire are in secular decline and CSU has no organic growth.

Is 5i’s confidence in CSU’s business prospects misplaced at this point??? Should we stay put to see if the “inevitable” decline materializes or try to anticipate this and step out of the way?

Thanks for your awesome guidance.

Q: I am holding BEP.UN and now BEPC also.
Will the BEPC dividend continue to be in U.S. $ ?
If the dividend on BEPC will be $0.4340 per share, payable Sept. 30 and the previous dividend on BEP.UN was $0.5425 on June 30, I would expect the future dividend on BEP.UN to drop, like the share price approx 25%, correct?
If so this seems to represent an overall dividend increase of about 6% in terms of total holdings, right?

Q: I bought BPY:us on a NY Exchange and hold in US$ within an RSP. I also hold BPY.un in C$ withinin a Canadian TFSA. I have substantial losses on both. These losses cannot be offset against capital gains.
BPY (US) and BPY.un have both sent me a cash offer for shares . The issuer offers US$12 or the equivalent in Canadian $. There is no mention of what, if any, accrued dividend would be paid to shareholders/ unitholders.
What would you do on the above-noted offer. Tender shares on one of the accounts , tender both, or neither ?
