Q: Hi Team , presently hold WCP as 3% holding. Would like to accompany that with a bigger player. Thinking of Suncor or Vermillion energy. Looking for growth and dividend as well. Which of the two would you recommend or is there another name you would recommend? Thank-you in advance. Sam
Please take the necessary number of credits..... My first question is about AX.UN. From what I have read, they seem to be managing the downturn in Western Canada fairly well - partially by diversifying in the States. Your thoughts on its prospects at this point in time? Does the distribution look (relatively) secure?
Second question pertains to Dream Office. Michael Cooper indicated that he thought the dividend at Dream Office would be lower within 2 years - likely due to their downsizing/rightsizing/upgrading their portfolio. Would you be inclined to wait for the stock to fall further before dipping your toes in?
Final question - Dream Industrial's payout ratio is getting too high. Do you see them cutting the distribution? It just seems that every time they report things look a little worse than they did in the previous quarter.
Q: This is not a question but a remark on Alaris Royalty. You state in a reply to a member: (Date: Mar 02, 2017 07:16 AM), "we would be cautious on any company that has cut dividends in the past. AD has so we would rule it out for your restrictions". If Alaris has cut it's dividend sometime in the past, I can find no record of that happening. As a satisfied if frustrated owner of AD I would like you to specify when this cut occured please and Thank you.
Q: Hi folks, wondering what your thoughts were on Altus aif/t purchasing Australian Property Management Software Provider. Is this their 1st venture in Australia, etc and will this be accretive to earnings right away or down the road. Fair purchase price?? and thoughts on company going forward. I bought on the selloff of Q results, thanks, jb
Q: I noticed that ITP shows "share based compensation expense" every quarter (for several years) as an item to be excluded when calculating "adjusted earnings", thereby considerably increasing "adjusted earnings" over what would be otherwise. It is a reasonably consistent number, and a very large component of their earnings. It seems to be just a variable "employee expense". Is this sort of accounting common in financial reporting of "adjusted" earnings, and is it something to watch out for?
Q: A guest on BNN today said the CSH.un isn't quite as defensive as one might think and that the payout ratio is too high. Do you have a different interpretation of the metrics? Is CSH.un still in good shape and stable, long-term, dividend-paying investment? Thanks!
Q: 1) i am a little bit confused , is the growth portfolio = the summary
2) you said that you have trim ` SHOP (shopify) ` but dont see this stock in either portfolio (balanced, income or summary )
3) you added BSM TECH (gps) but again dont see in either portfolios
4) suggestion: when you add or delete a stock IT SHOULD BE REFLECTED IN THE PORTFOLIOS AT THE SAME TIME
THANKS
I manage two well diversified portfolios. In each one of them I am missing investment in Canadian Consumer staples that pay a dividend. Could kindly suggest to me a few companies that would be good for long term hold?
Q: Hi , I own some shares of that company , it would seem that they are doing everything right but the shares are not going up , can I have your thoughts on that company .. Thanks
