Q: These two funds were purchased in part for the dividend income in retirement. I wonder if you could explain why the distribution was lower than expected in the fourth quarter.

Q: Could I have your opinion on PYR. I am down 35 percent on the stock mostly since they first announced a large contract in June. Since then they have announced the same contract several times but can't get it finalized. Scared to sell in case it does get completed. Your thoughts please.
Q: Hi 5i:
I believe it would be wise to get in soon on 5G hardware producers, transmission networks, appliance manufacturers.
Aside from Canadian telecom networks I cannot readily identify any Canadian candidates.
Could you suggest Canadian opportunities, as well as a few promising US chip makers, networks, and end users?
Many thanks for your great service.
Q: The end of 2018 bmo closed at 89. and bns closed at 68., a difference of about 21.
Last Friday bmo closed at 103.80 and bnn closed at 72.48, a difference of 31.32.
Can you explain the reason for the vast under performance of bns v.s. bmo and do you plan to retain bns in 2 of your portfolios? If so,why ?
Q: Could you recommend some ETF and stocks which would have commodities as primary investments excluding oil and gas. What is your opinion of having such investments in a well balances portfolio. Also what percentage of such investments would you recommend in a balanced portfolio?
Q: Good day I have a large gain in the above stocks in an outside account. I am thinking of taking half off the table and putting it into a canadian dividend etf VDY. I understand that i would have to pay some tax but i would net a higher dividend from VDY than the other three and i live from my dividends. Or should i just leave them to grow as each is about a 4% position in my total portfolio. Could you please give me your thoughts on this....Gene
Q: Peter; The appointment of Brian Levitt, TD chairman, seems a bit odd to me- very small company with a good future but a very high profile name , Do you know if any share options were involved? Any comments? Thanks. Rod

Q: Hi 5i
I know COV was removed from your portfolio but if you still held it (as I decided to do) ... how much more time would you give it to "show me" a reason to continue to hold it?
Is there any optimism left for this one?

Q: Let's suppose Ottawa increases the capital gains inclusion rate, say jan2,2021.
Would that increased rate apply to capital gains prior to Jan 2,2021 or to capital gains from jan2,2021 ?
Q: Do you know how brokerage firms determine maximum margin on specific stocks? About a year ago one could have 70% margin on GIL but it dropped to 50% a few months ago while a much smaller company like SIS continued to have 70% margin. Just recently GIL went back to 70% margin. I thought larger companies that pay dividends like GIL generally have 70% margin.
Q: Hi again,
