Q: Seems Putin has asked China for military and economic help and the US is going to tell China such action is crossing a red line. With this news, is it best to sell now rather waiting to see the out coming?......Yes, I know this is a predictive question but am seeking your take.......Thank....Tom

Brookfield Renewable Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BEPC)
Q: What are your favorite Canadian utilities. Criteria: maintenance of dividend with some possibility of growth.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: I am thinking of adding TXF to my portfolio, however, am not sure which account would be appropriate. Considering that most of the Tech. companies in this ETF are U.S., would that not attract a 15% withholding tax. If this is the case, then would a registered account be preferable to a TFSA.
Thanks for the great service

Q: Hi 5i,
Can you help me understand how TSU is not an absolute tabling pounding buy here. They have been growing the top line at a 40% clip. I believe the ROE is 18 or 19%. They have a long growth run way. Yes they missed last earnings due to two things outside of their control (surety losses impacting .08 and hurricane .02). If those one time items did not occur they would have beat consensus.
They have a great track record of execution and the BAM pedigree. Please let me know if you disagree. Also, please let me know in your opinion when the stock is a) cheap and b) table pounding buy.
Thank you.

Q: Can you comment on the investment merits of this ETF NANR
Q: Hello,
After GOOG does their split - do you think the demand/trading volume for the CDR will dry up?
And in a worst case scenario that likely will never happen - if the CDR winds up and liquidates....would the holders get cash returned or would they receive proportional equivalent of US listed GOOG?
thank you and have a great weekend.

Q: Would you say Telus and Verizon offer comparable services? Which would you choose for a "relatively safe" play in our present market and which do you think has the best. chance at growth going forward?
Q: Hi Folks,
just wondering if ATVI would be good to buy at this price. I understand that MSFT is offering $95 to buy them with the deal closing in 2023. Do you see the potential for the Feds to nix the deal? A $15 dollar premium until the deal goes through looks pretty good right now ? Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

iShares PHLX SOX Semiconductor Sector Index Fund (SOXX)
Q: I am looking to start a position in the semiconductor sector given the recent pull back. What stocks would you favour today and why or would you suggest an ETF? Please rank them from best to least.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Ah Paypal, by far the worst holding in my portfolio that ive held on to far too long despite a significant capital loss. I was initially intrigued by the practical application of the technology, its solid profitability and what i was sold as a good growth story with good room for revenue/profit expansion. Is it fair to say that these is totally broken? I would be very grateful for any insights you have into the current state of this company and whether you think its time to move on even though its held in a registered account.

Unity Software Inc. (U)

Upstart Holdings Inc. (UPST)

Affirm Holdings Inc. (AFRM)
Q: Moving money from a poor performer to a better performer, talking about AFRM and U - both I could not find in your database when I tried to search them. I was going to move them to more better performers in the case of CRWD and NVDA. That should be a better place. I am north of 70 so waiting 5 years for these 2 to recover may not be an option here. Another 2 that one day they are up 10% and the next day they are down 10% - CELH and UPST. Are there any issues that have surfaced lately about the four mentioned securities thanks
Q: I am looking to invest in a US REIT ETF. Do you consider the sector to be buyable right now and would you suggest some choices with a brief reasoning why. many thanks Al

Purpose Global Flexible Credit Fund (FLX.B)
Q: Hello 5i
We're curious about FLX (formerly FLOT)
Held since 2018Dec it was up ~2.85% including Interest pmts at 2021Dec31
Since then it has further dropped and we are now down ~2.0% (including interest pmts)
Would appreciate your opinion whether this is due to the change in its
investment objective introduced in December, or is it more related to the market
scenario since then.
Would you recommend holding or exchange for some safer bond ETF ?
If the latter could you please provide a couple of examples
Thanks for your guidance.

Q: Wondering if your thoughts have changed on this one. Given the horrors in the Ukraine, one might have thought anything related to defense would have sky rocketed. What will it take for MRS to take off ?
Q: What are the odds this is higher in five years? Good opportunity for growth investors?
Q: What can explain the drop in the device makers?
Q: Looking to purchase a US dividend stock with a good dividend and room to grow. I have listed them in my order of preference. What are your preferences and why? I do not have any US stocks in these 3 areas.
Thank you for your excellent guidance and expertise.
