Q: Good morning,
I am looking to establish some additional convertible debenture positions( I currently own an Exchange Income cv debenture) and would appreciate your feedback/suggestions , with a goal of 4.5 - 5% yield in companies with healthy balance sheets and a high probability of being able to service the debt and repay principal.
Thank you

Q: Good morning team,
How would you view Trican's repurchase of another 25 million shares over the next three months and also their plan to repurchase another 30 million in 2019? Seems that with the price of oil stabilizing their outlook for Q3 is towards turning a profit.Analists estimates are for 6.00$ a share late 2019...is this realistic and would you recommend a buy at these levels?
Many thanks,
Jean

Q: Hello Peter,
What do you think about the joint venture between Hydropothecary and Molson's? Does this put Hydropothecary in the same category with Canopy (with Constellation equity) in terms of market perception? Aphria's results look fine, but why is the stock down? Is Brookfield Infrastructure a good buy given its takeover over of Enercare? Also, i noticed from BNN guests who are considered value investors that all of them had vary different views on Enercare from dont buy to hold to top pick. Can you shed some light as to why the views are so different given they all look at fundamentals? Lastly, what is happening with Grande West. It goes up and than back down again. Thanks.

The only REITs/Healthcare I own are SIA [3.3% position] and CSH.UN [3.8%]. I am considering buying one or more other REITS for the long term for the income. Could you please advise what REITs in any sector you would suggest that are sufficiently robust to prosper through the next inevitable market correction/crash, have low enough debt not to be of great concern, have a history of growth and rising dividends, and hopefully pay dividends in the 5% range.
Thank you.............. Paul K

Q: In follow up for my question about finding industrial and consumer defensive stocks, you suggested 3 consumer (L, ATD.B and PBH) and 1 industrial (WSP). That is great, but is there no other industrial that has stability in economic downturn while offering a reasonable yield and dividend growth?

Q: Currently UTX is the only industrial stock in my portfolio and I would like to add two or three more to bring industrials up to 15 to 20% of my total portfolio. I have a very long-term total return focus. What are your favorite industrial stocks (either Canadian or US) at this time? thx
Q: Can you provide me an updated view on IVQ.U? I see it is trading below book value. I presume that if it was doing well it would be slightly above book? How do you feel about their debt and what effect a rising rate environment would play in their being able to meet their debt obligations without issuing stock or othrrwise raising capital? Thank you.

Q: Hi. I am new to your group and have a question about currency, in particular about $US to $CDN. I currently have $59000 US that I set aside to buy land in Costa Rica. I changed the money over from CDN to US last year at a rate of 0.7957. I have changed my plans and won't be buying land there, so I want to change most of the money back in to Canadian funds so I can invest in long term stocks. Is it a good idea to keep some of the money in US funds so I can invest in American companies as well as Canadian companies? Also, what do you think the Canadian dollar will do in the next 3 months in relation to the Us dollar?
Thanks
Rob
