Q: What are a few relatively safe material sector stocks that my daughter, mid 30's, could thinking about holding in her RRSP for the long term???......thanks for the suggestions as me, I tend to shy away from material sector stocks.........Tom

What does this mean? Are these the rights or the warrants?
Can I do anything with them yet? If yes what and how? Im with a banking brokerage firm so independent of any personal advisor/broker.

Q: Hello 5i Research,
I have read the recent questions and answers about CSU rights. I have some interest in becoming a CSU debenture holder. I'd like to know what strategy you recommend: selling the rights I've obtained or buying them on the secondary market? How do you assess the value of the rights? Are they overvalued, undervalued or well valued? Or, given the low price of $0.53, do I buy as many rights as I need to buy as many debentures as I want to hold? Thanks for your help, Eric

Q: One of the thing most analyst covering CSU along with 5i is how they have not issued new shares since going public. The stock is up over 15,000% and seems to be more growth ahead. If they have not issued any shares hows the stock up 15,000%? is this just new investors buying the limited shares that are traded at higher and higher prices and holding on to them?

Q: What do you think about the bought deal: "under which the Underwriters have agreed to purchase, on a bought deal basis, 89,490,000 common shares of the Company ("Common Shares") for aggregate gross proceeds of CDN$4 billion at an offering price of CDN$44.70 per Common Share ".

In after-hours trading the stock is down >6%. If it stays in the range after the selloff that means the dividend will be >7.8%. How high will the dividend have to be before you get concerned about a cut (I don't want another AQN surprise!)?

Is it a stock you would buy today, or wait for the dust to settle?
What would be a good entry point?

Q: Fortinet dropped 25% after poor billings guidance. Based on that, and the fact that Palo Alto announced around that time that it would report on a Friday, Palo Alto stock dropped 20%. But after Palo Alto reported earnings, the stock jumped, so net Palo Alto is down around 5%. Yet Palo Alto also projected a slowdown in billings. Why did investors like Palo Alto’s earnings report and not like Fortinet’s earnings report? Thanks.

Q: hi,
I own these 5 equities in my USD account, plus a reasonable amount of cash that could be deployed. im fairly comfortable with all of them, are you? if I was to shift to an all growth strategy within this account, what would you suggest selling ( if any ), and what would you suggest buying, either new names or current holdings ( with a reasonable target purchase price, if able )? I would be looking for growth companies with positive earnings/earnings growth ( ie nothing highly speculative right now ). cheers and enjoy the long weekend. chris

Q: Would you go for an RBC one year prime linked GIC at 4.75% redeemable with interest after 30 days. or an HSBC standard one year GIC at 5.25% redeemable after 90 days with interest? I suppose it's a call on where you see interest rates heading.

Q: ATZ: No nothing about this stock other than it is a retail clothing store that has lost a lot of value. I own nothing in this group other than CTC.A which I bought at crazy low price in 2020 and still hold in a small position. Please enlighten me as to it's fall from grace - the whys and what needs to happen for it to gain momentum again. Thinking about a small position?
