Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Recently we have had one BNN guest whom I believe you respect a lot tout this as a top pick and another one say that they are exposed if Penn West does not make it due to large portion of revenue from them. Do you know how significant they depend on PennWest and would some other company not buy the Penn West production and be on the hook for the royalty agreement with Freehold?
Thanks for all you do and all the best for 2016

Q: HAppy New Year guys, was wandering if you could give me your top energy picks for small, mid and large cap companies for a 1-2 year hold,I realize this is a tall order as no one knows what the oil price is headed (hopefully higher somewhat in this timeframe)So could you put each picks emphasis low debt, quality management and growth potential and you can charge me 3 questions if you like thanks. Q: Hi,
I have cash to deploy, I cannot decide what to do about my energy stocks.
I have WCP (2.8%), TOU (1.8%), and BAD (3.5%)
I realize BAD is only about half exposed to energy.
My target for energy had been 10-12% with a max of 3 stocks. If you include BAD, I am currently at 8%. My full position for a stock is 4%.
Would you recommend I top up these stocks, or readjust my target for energy and wait for better times?

Q: Which energy companies would have costs in Canadian and get paid by WTI or USA funds ?
Q: your thoughts on Dundee as a value pick on the discount to BV
Q: With the current market conditions in energy, is CFL positioned for growth in 2016? At their current price the dividend is ~10%, but they have lost over 50% on their price in a very short time. Are they a prospective long term growth, or likely to fail if the energy sector continues to hurt.
Q: I spoke to the head of IR at this company based in Calgary a few weeks ago because I am a long-time SH and was concerned about the dividend being cut going fwd. He was quite sure it would not be cut even though, as I pointed out, they carried a fair bit of debt. - build out Corrib in IRE - on stream soon - Dec. 30th started pumping - 30% increase in cash flow: pay down debt. As well reduced capital budget for 2016 which would support the dividend which he deemed quite sacred. Comments please?

Q: Hello 5i!
Down 37% on PEY, and have a small position on this one, do you still consider Peyto one of the better companies within the oil and gas? Would you recommend to add some at the current level not considering asset allocation? I am a long term investor, well diversified portfolio (have quite a few of 5i suggested small cap O&G) and can handle risk.
Thanks!

Q: Seems to be a lot of activity lately regarding this company eg,
The Corporation has also been informed by Promigas S.A. E.S.P. that due to operational delays in the expansion of the transportation capacity of the gas pipeline between Jobo and Cartagena, the new pipeline will begin operations with an additional capacity of 19 MMscfpd by December 30, 2015, total additional capacity of 50 MMscfpd by January 30, 2016, and total additional capacity of 65 MMscfpd by mid-February 2016. The Corporation’s current and continuing production of approximately 25 MMscfpd will not be affected by the delays related to the pipeline expansion, as this gas is sold via a separate pipeline. The Jobo gas processing plant expansion and Clarinete field tie-in remain on schedule to be completed prior to the end of November, and the Oboe-1 well is currently scheduled to spud mid-November following the completion of rig maintenance.
Could this be a good time to take a position

Q: Hi Peter
Regarding Suncor's hostile bid for COS, would you advise accepting or would you hold on to COS. I own both companies. I'm not sure what to do here.
Thanks.

Q: Hello,
Would you endorse a switch from Tou to Wcp for energy exposer so that at least we get a dividend while waiting for a sector recovery?
Do you think that in a recovery both stocks would act similarly or one would significantly outperform the other?
Thank you
