Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,
This is regarding a question that another 5i Member asked about portfolio allocation tracking websites or apps. I just recently switched from TD Direct Investing to BMO Investorline. I discovered that BMO Investorline cleverly takes your account holdings and automatically generates a portfolio sector allocation pie chart and also shows the accompanying list with the percentage allocated to each sector. This is displayed at: Home / My Portfolio / Allocation Charts. This is not a plug for BMO Investorline (although I do really like it) but it is clever and saves valuable time. Hope this is helpful. Q: I TRANSFERRED some stocks (Phm) from a non registered account to my tfsa taking a loss in my non registered account
I would like to re purchase Phm in the non registered account at the current lower price
Re: CRA rules--- will I be allowed to take in the non registered acc or do I have to wait for 30 days before I repurchase Phm in the non registered acc thank you

Q: Following up on your answer to manochehr, I have $250,000 to invest right now, which is 60% of my mother's portfolio. You seem wary of the market right now, so how would you suggest I go about getting fully invested? She needs maximum dividends for income to pay for her retirement home but is also concerned with maintaining capital.

Q: It seems to me that ACQ has a reasonable dividend and growing earnings and the chart looks like it should it should get back to close to $40. That would be about 35% up from here. What do you think?

Q: I am a fan of the Brookfield group and own BEP.UN. Looking at buying BIP.UN.However, this co. is concentrated in Brazil and Australia with assets that are to various degrees commodity related, ie, ports and railroads. Should this concern me? I am a long term investor Thanks

Q: Way down over last little while: good dividend, high ROE, ROI and trades at PE of 6, drug in long-term trial & if successful would mean a huge incr. in scripts, sold off some OTC products to another company. Comments please as I have been watching this one for a couple of years. I own J & J in my USD portfolio already & was thinking of adding this one?

Q: For fixed income portion of portfolio, I was looking at bond ETF. Do the returns include the dividends for eg. Cbo shows 4.4% return since inception. Does this include the 4% divident. Can you suggest some good reading for learning about bonds and other fixed income products. I would also suggest this as a possible topic for a future blog. For a diversified portfolio would you suggest Canadian, US and other international bonds?Thanks very much. Shyam

Q: Hi GREAT Team. Similar to Terry's question on Aug 26..I own M, BNS and SLF within my RRIF. I am trying to add more US to my PFs. I would like to have BMO change one of these to US $. and save the conversion costs. Of the 3 BNS is always in the red for me.
But which one as if today would be best? Thanks again for all you do for us...cheers for now

Q: For high risk, what is your view on Profound Medical? It has fallen hard with other small cap. Goodman from Knight is involved financially and at the board level. Other backers include the government. I'm not in a rush with this one and under $1 it looks interesting to me.

Q: I have bumped into to two fund managers/portfolio advisors in the last week, and I talked to both about their investing styles. Both said they were sitting on a lot of a cash that they have built up over the last couple months.

One also said they were selling there winners ex/ ATD.B and planning to pick it back up at a lower price.

Do these fund managers know something that retail investors don't?
It seems like professionals sometimes say buy and hold, meanwhile they are selling.

Or are they taking a guess and going for it?

I am very patient long term holder and don't trade very often, but I am curious who is doing all the selling in market down turns?

Q: What would be the catalyst to catapult MDA near to its 52 week highs of $101? I purchased a 4% position in November 2014, at $89, and rode the wave up, and then rode it back down. I'm still holding, having viewed all your recent responses to other members, within the last month, and have tried not to buy into the fear of sell offs. Is it wise to take it back up to 4% of my portfolio at this time, given the sale it's on, or should I sit tight and let it do it on its own? (I always hate to pass up a good sale, but if the shoes don't fit, and aren't likely to stretch a size or two, I wouldn't want to throw good money after bad. Thanks for your insight.
