Q: I have long watched CGI Group as an investment based on the advice of Jason Donville on BNN. He was always hyping to ROE being so high and seemed to have good results until he disappeared from the air in the wake of the Valeant and Concordia falls. CGI Group though seems to get lots of "Top Pick" calls on the shows but hasn't really done much. The RSI is down in the 30 range and I'm wondering if company fundamentals combined with the shares being oversold make this a good "trade" or a good opportunity to buy and hold?

Q: Greetings 5i team:
I own CGI Group in a non-registered account. Without regard to tax implications or trading costs, just looking at the fundamentals and expectations for each company, would you make a switch to either Open Text or Descartes assuming a 3 year or greater time frame?

Thanks as always for your analysis.

Q: On December 22, 2017 the 3 stocks concerned concluded the day at $8.28, $767.34, and $68.92. I assume all should be kept for the future. Only GUD is presently is at problematic value. In agreement ?

Q: Hi 5i: I want to buy SHOP, but am somewhat overweight in tech. I am considering selling either CGI Group or Decarte Systems (in which I have a double), or a bit of both, to make room. What would you advise? Many thanks. Roland

Q: Morning 5i,

I've been keeping my eye on GIB for a while now and, to me it's looking like its on the verge of a breakout. For the last two years the stock has been trading more or less sideways. I now little about technical analysis, but I've heard the longer the consolidation period, the bigger the breakout. At least thats the theory as I understand it.

My first question is, do you view the behavior of this stock as a possible break out opportunity?

Second, if you were to move into the name, would you buy a half position now, and then wait for positive confirmation before purchasing the second half position?

Thanks again for the great service!

Q: Hi Peter and team
I need cash from our LIF/RIF accounts and need to decide which stocks to pare. Considering future growth, should I sell equal amounts from ENGH / GIB'A or sell only one , and MG / PBH for another account? Appreciate your help.

Q: Howdy! The Kiki Delaney chapter in "Market Masters" has inspired me to invest more in Quebec-based equities. I already have BCE, CAE, CNR & GUD. Please rank the top 3 in this list (or other Quebec-based equities that I didn't list) to add right now purely on long-term (3-5 yrs) appreciation (value + dividends).
Thank you,
David L

Q: Hello 5i team,
My holdings in the technology sector represent 23% of my portfolio; they consist of CLS, CSU, DSG, ENGH, GIB.A, KXS, OTEX, PHO and SHOP. I wish to shed at least 2 of them; which would you suggest?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: Would you purchase CSU at the current level to replace ENGH?

As well, is CSU an appropriate addition to my current holdings (OTEX, GIB and KXS)?

Thanks

Sylvain

Q: Each of the above stocks I have owned for a number of years and am enjoying a good profit. However, in the past year they have just drifted and are simply no longer growth stocks. I am considering selling all or parts of these positions. Could you rank order them for me in terms of what would you sell first and what % of the position. I understand you might also suggest not to sell any of them and in fact add to them. This type of reassurance would be welcome as clearly I have lost conviction in these names. There is no rush here and I don't need to raise capital for other purchases.

Q: Hi 5i,

In rebalancing my portfolio, I find that I am sadly lacking in tech stocks. At present, I have: CSU 4%, KXS 1.5%, Shop 0.4%. Could you suggest options to bring the total up to about 15% and designating whether they would be better suited for an RRIF or TFSA account? As a senior, I should be more conservative but, at the same time, I can stand some risk.

With thanks.

Q: Hi Peter and Company,

I have looked at metrics (beta, market cap, p/cash flow ratio, p/e ratio, dividend rate) for the above 3 mentioned IT/tech companies and feel that OTEX seems to have the best metrics among them. Would you please comments on these companies and rank them accordingly.

Cheers,
Harry

Q: I am interested in adding to my technology holdings and am considering CGI or Open Text. CGI seems a little less volatile but Open Text pays a dividend. Do you have a preference for one over the other at this time. Perhaps there is a different Company that you would prefer to either of these. I also wanted to ask if you had a preference for buying in Canada or the US?

Thank you as always.

Q: per your latest addition to the balanced portfolio, I plan to add CAE to my portfolio. To do this, however, I need to sell one of my other tech stocks. which amongst KXS,CSU,GIB.a,DSG,ENGH,CLS,OTEX would you suggest to sell at this time. All have a 2% weighting.
thanks
