Q: HellO and a question re the overall Global market condition.
It would appear we are in a Bear market with no bottom in site yet. What strong Canadian areas in the Utilities, Consumer and Industrial areas would you suggest one parks some money currently. It does appear money is rotating to these areas out of the more risky areas to safety. Thank you for your insight.

Q: Good afternoon
Could you please provide your best ideas for 6 Canadian companies with solid and growing dividends (preferably yielding in excess of 3% today) that I would be appropiate to stick into a non-registered account for at least the next 5-10 years.
Thanks as always

Q: I am up 25% in 1030, a long term holding but down on both of the 1033 and 1042. Would appreciate your advise as to sell or move into other Mfund. Many thanks, J.A.P, Burlington
Q: What do you think Fortis's announcement to buy ITC. Thanks
Q: Hello team,
I was wondering if you had an opinion on Valero. It would seem that in this environment it would flourish with the availability of cheap oil. The stock has fallen from over 73 to the 53 level and has an interesting multiple and dividend. What am I missing here?
Also, have you ever considered adding a U.S. portfolio to your roster?

Q: Hi Peter, Considering current downturn in biotechs and future overhang of US elections, do you think I would be better off to wait until August/September this year to pick up CXR or NHC? Also I read biotech prices are inversely proportional to interest rates. So do you think it is a good bet to hold CXR at this time when fed is tightening? I have 30% of my portfolio in cash. Should I hold off until August or September(weakest month)to deploy them for a 10 year hold?
Q: Hello Peter and the 5I team
What are signs of a value trap?? Do you have a check list that you can follow? I am wondering if MG could be a value trap. I heard that a good sign of a value trap is a low P/E ratio compared to historic levels ( this may seem like a obvious sign). What things do you look for? I was wondering what your general opinion is on MG and do you feel that the car parts cycle is over or on a decline?
Thanks

Q: any opinions on this one , thanks
Q: Today David Rosenberg recommended buying high-yield corporate bonds, presumably because bond prices would go up when the stock markets go down. What is your view of this strategy? Any ETFs that you would recommend, Canadian or US?
Q: I have a few shares of this stock, have not seen any negative news to cause it to go down so steeply. Would you happen to have access to details I may not have access to that would explain the downturn? Many thanks, Helen
Q: Gold and related stocks have had quite a run lately. Might this be seasonal or longer lasting?
I am wondering, if investment in any of the companies indicated or the ETF might be worthwhile. BTO, a stock considered solid, has not really participated as much as other stocks - any reason?
Thank you for your input!
