Q: I am underwhelmed with my health sector holdings - ABBV and IHI - both of which have been recently underperforming the market. I have held each for several years in a cash account and they are up 20% and 50%, respectively. I would appreciate your go forward recommendation on both, balancing future prospects, tax consequences and alternative (i.e. faster growing) investments in this sector. Hold or sell? And if sell, replace with what? Thank you.

Q: Propel continues to drop post earnings despite very good earnings and outlook. What do you make of this? I saw some insider sales recently but I assume that is to be expected after a large run up? Should I keep accumulating in this range what is the forward valuation now? Thanks

Q: Your thoughts on the future of this company. Is it a buy, hold or sell?

Q: Sorry to ask again but I am puzzled. You had indicated a forward PE of 10.5 for propel holdings. Mr Donville mentioned in an interview stock is now expensive. How is a PE of 10 for small cap growth company expensive? Much appreciated.

I recently asked a question concerning the content of four 'Dream' TFSA portfolios. However, I had intended that the four portfolios contain an increasing number of securities (four, six, eight and ten) and not an increasing period for the securities to be held.
Although I found the answer to be informative, can you take another crack at my question with the # of securities as the defining factor.

Sector diversification not necessary for my question and they need not be dividend paying securities either.

What do you think about the Buffer ETFs offered by BMO? Are they suitable for a retired investor who wants some downside protection and is comfortable with limited returns in a strong market scenario? Are their AUMs adequate to consider a purchase? BMO has three such ETFs: ZAPR, ZJAN, and ZOCT. Or are there other 'better' ETFs that have lower MERs, as the three cited have rather hefty MERs?

Q: Dear 5i
I'm currently lacking in international stocks and ETF's and am overweight on Canadian investments .
Does the Canadian market look better right now or is now a good time to take the plunge and buy an international ETF such as VIU as a means to better balance the portfolio ?

Q: I've held FSV for many, many years and have a nice unrealized gain. I'm looking to add to the position.

Any concern with adding at this price level? I notice the graph has shown a steady decline for the past several weeks.

Would you wait for it to settle down a bit?

Q: Do you recommend holding Enerplus until the close of the deal ? Are there restrictions on ERF insiders and employees on selling their CHRD shares as soon as the deal closes ? If I do not stick with CHRD, I would like to keep these funds in O&G. What are your favorites in this sector. I own WCP, CPG, TOU and the pipelines. ERF is currently held in a TFSA. Thanks.

Q: Hello 5i, I own Enerplus but do not want the CHRD shares there is a special dividend to be paid payable to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 30, 2024 . The ex-dividend date for this payment will be May 30, 2024 . The Special Dividend is intended to equalize the amount of quarterly. The transaction of the takeover is I think May 31/24. Would I be able to sell my shares May 30/24 and still qualify for the special dividend?

Q: "I'm considering lightening up on my energy (oil) holdings and transitioning to some core renewable energy names as it seems to me these companies have a bright future and are currently "out of favour". I'm having trouble determining which renewable energy companies are valued best that also have the best growth prospects. Which names does 5I believe are "best in class" renewable energy companies currently trading at fair multiples with good growth prospects".
