Q: I know you have high regard for MDA but had frustration with it's performance. Today the market is reacting badly to recent news. Do you think reaction is overdone or does this reaffirm your decision to drop it from your portfolio. I own 200 MDA right now and am wondering if this is an opportunity to "average down" my cost, or just throwing good money after bad. Your thoughts please...

Q: BDT is not feeling the Morneau love this morning, unlike for example WSP which is up on an otherwise down day. Is this a fair assessment of the likely beneficiaries of government infrastructure money? Anyone else in the space that is worth looking at? Thank-you

Q: A recent Globe & Mail article recommends investing in certain American defence companies, based on the assumption that military spending will increase regardless of who is elected. They cite the high growth areas of “aircraft, shipbuilding, missile defence and precision munitions”. Their recommendations include RTN, GD, LLL, and HRS. They also mention BA, UTX and LMT but don’t rank them quite as highly. I realize you follow Canadian stocks more closely, but I was wondering if you had any preferences among these names, or if an ETF like ITA or PPA would be preferable for diversification and safety. Q: Hello 5i team,
I would like to purchase a few REITS through my RRSP account since I currently have non. I was thinking of purchasing one of the listed REITs that you suggested in a previous question and maybe an ETF (if they exist).

Of the REITs (CSH, HR, CAR) which one has the best dividend/growth? I figured a REIT that goes across the country would be the best.

Also do REIT ETFs exist? If so are there some that possible cover commercial properties only?

Q: FAR has been showing some improvement over the past year. Earnings are improving (though still negative), P/B, P/S and P/CF look good, and debt seems manageable (~50%), although margins and ROA, ROE, ROI etc. are still terrible. It is only covered by one analyst, but the rating is Strong Buy. I bought speculatively when there was some minor insider buying and am currently showing a small profit. I'm debating whether to continue holding should a mining / energy sector rise float this boat. Thoughts?
