Q: Good morning 5i, I am still plodding along with asset allocator. I have only Weed left in healthcare having sold GUD, and COV. I need 9% so another 7% after WEED. Happy to buy in $US or $Cdn and looking at XHC, IHI, PFE, ZTS. I appreciate your input. Regards, Ted

Q: I have FAH and FIH in a long term RRSP. I believe in the long term growth of these regions and I’m cautiously hopeful Mr Watsa and team are making sound PE investments to try to benefit from regional growth. But I find them tricky to assess because of the fees and the multi-asset PE structure. Can you provide your view on the financial performance of these companies? I would also appreciate your thoughts on whether you’d consider topping up a relatively small position. Please deduct two questions and deal with each separately. Thanks!

Re: Gud's NCIB:
“Be mindful that the largest beneficiary of the share repurchase program is Jonathan Goodman. Even if he does not participate, the reduction of shares at a substantial discount to last $10 per share capital raise only serves to increase his percentage control of the company. Like his conflicting interests with his family business (Pharmascience), either way he wins and shareholders lose.

“Rather than engage in financial engineering that principally benefits the CEO, why didn’t the Board consider a partial tender offer for shares at $10? Just give shareholders their money back at the price paid? It’s a fair question. But one that we fully expect the company to ignore.

Q: Hi 5i team, if I remember right you do caution small investor like us buy and sell in the first hour of each trading day. Is there any reason behind this practice ?

Q: We have a lot of US stocks that I have done well on as well we have a bunch of ETF 's that hold US equities that hedge the dollar. I feel that the US dollar is starting to lose steam and we don't want to give up our individual US companies but don't want to lose on our dollar exposure. What is the most cost effective way to protect against dollar exposure for the long term?

Q: I currently am a holder of the following three companies. I consider CSU as an A+ quality, legacy wide-moat company and an A+ capital allocater. Conversely I consider Brookfield of similar nature in reinvestment skills, but as more of a B+ ranking. I consider Broadridge as a legacy wide-moat company, but once again I would rank it as a B+ here.

My question is if you know of any other companies that have these wide legacy moats and strong reinvestment skill similar to that of CSU. Especially down in the U.S. Perhaps you could list out 4-5 possibilities?

Q: During the interview on BNN today it was indicated that there are plans for Martello to grow organically as well as through acquisitions. Do you have any insight as to how they might finance these acquisitions, eg. issuing equity or debt or both. Also could you provide some information on their balance sheet as well as present and expected revenue and earnings growth. Also what is the present insider ownership and has there been much buying or selling in the past few months. Thank you.

Q: Would you have a stop loss on these companies? My worst performers by far -20% and -30% in each. Are insiders selling or have a low position? What is the short position in each company. Thanks
