All things considered, would you rate SMCI a hold or sell today?
What do you think the likelihood is of it being de-listed from the Nasdaq? Would you wait to make a hold/sell decision until after next Tuesday's scheduled business update, or do you think there's not much that management can say to change the market's perspective on this stock?
Q: Regarding SCMI, how badly would their accounting have to be misstated before it was not attractive based on fundamental reasons? Looking at the current and forward P/E, it's relatively cheap for a good business in a great part of the market.
What if a company with a different name produced a quarterly report that showed SMCI's numbers in terms of growth and earnings but without any of the baggage and negative perception? What would 5i value this other entity at with current financials and for fun, what would 5i value it at if the numbers are revised to be 25% worse.
Q: Thoughts on earnings? Thinking of buying a position but going to let the dust settle first. Do you think the price action is well supported by the earnings and guidance? Seems like growth is very strong.
Q: How do you think about this scenario. Own a stock of a company that you have researched and understand well, for a long term position. The stock then goes on a longterm downtrend. Quarter after quarter it keeps drifting down, but for no apparent reason that you can identify. Fundamentally all seems well. Does there reach a point when you assume that the market must know something that you are missing and its best to just sell and get out of the way? OR Keep the faith in your research and continue holding?
Q: Could you recommend a few CAD etfs for the US market/SP500/Nasdaq that do not require to be reported on form T1135 for an unregistered account over $100K? Thanks in advance.
Q: The Canadian Dollar has weakened against the US and is reaching relatively historic lows (for the last 10 years). For Registered accounts like an RRSP and TSFA where there are no tax implications of selling, would you support the switch from Non-hedged ETFs to CAD-Hedged ETFs? For example, the switch from XUU.CA to XUH.CA
Currently managing my parents investments. Apparently they have gotten wind of Bitcoin. They have asked me to take a flyer on some. That being said, if one were to buy it, would you prefer Galaxy?
Secondly, for a retired person's investment strategy, who would like a little tourque in their account, what 3 names would you suggest from either the gorwth or balance portfolio, to add to their account. Note, currently they have the majority of their investments in income related securitiies.
Q: So what gives with kxs? 5i gave it good reviews on earnings (which appeared to be strong), but it's down over 3% as of 11am. I realize it's a down market day but with good earnings, it shouldn't be leading the pack downward. So what gives?
Q: If starting an RESP account today, would you go with Portfolio A or B? Will start drawing from account in 5 years.
A. VBAL
B. 40% XHY & 60% XWD, rebalanced annually
Thanks
Alphabet’s cloud business has significantly increased its earnings in recent quarters. Does this indicate that AI technology has substantially boosted the company’s earning power? Additionally, can we say that AI technology is proving to be profitable for other companies as well?
Q: Why is their Share based compensation (SBC) so impactful and visible in the results? Is it because of the size of the company and revenue? Other companies I am sure has SBC but I rarely see it as a top headline item in earning press release.
