Q: Hi Peter and Ryan,

There is quite a difference between BNK's current price ($1.85) and the offer price ($2.20) (19% differential). Is the market signalling that this deal may not happen...ala Mart Resources (MMT)? Am I missing something ?

Q: Our kids are now going to post-secondary school, so the RESP will be drained at a rate of 25% annually. With these fixed needs, what is an appropriate stable holding? The portfolio is 75% preferreds that have held their par value (GWO.pr.p IGM.pr.b POW.pr.c) but I am concerned they may not hold their ground for the next 4 years. The remainder is in a Cdn Balanced fund.

Q: On the balance sheet November 2015 I note 4.7B in Equity. I note 7.3B in Goodwill and Intangible assets. The new acquisition will probably increase this significantly. Can I get your take on this. Also can you explain tax treatment when you write off Goodwill and Intangibles. Regards

Q: Hello.
As most, I am not accustom to having my capital cut by 25% in 4 days like I have experienced with CXR. My bad for being drawn into this type of investment.
As I am here now, I was expecting to see someone ask for your market experienced comment on what we just witnessed this week and how to deal with it.....as I wonder what is next.
Is there a story that goes with this cut in share price? (Wise and Seasoned Investors getting out before earnings?) Or do we just sit blindly believing it is all due to Valiant?

Q: Constellation Software closed sharply lower to $500.68 with a substantial higher volume on Friday, crossing below its 50 and 200 days moving average. I am already a share holder at much lower entry price. Does this indicate some coming bad news? Please kindly advice buy/sell or hold? Thank you. Bill

In the last 4 months HMY has gone from $0.52 to $4.19. I guess you could say it went from the Intensive Care Unit to being discharged from the hospital with a positive prognosis. Ha!Ha! You would agree it was due for profit taking. Yesterday it declined 10% on 11M volume. Then in the last 30 minutes it traded 35M shares and went up 5%. only loosing 3% for the day. I was amazed! So please tell me what this means. Was this institutional buying on the dip...is this a good sign for the future? Also is there a rough rule of thumb between the price correlation between bullion and miners when they are already in profit territory? So if bullion went up 10% to $1375.00 what might happen to HMY?

In this article, he discusses the problems that REITs may have going forward due to the 'advancing age' of some REIT founders with no apparent successors in place, thus increasing the possibility of a strategic change in direction for the REIT, or an outright sale.

Do you view this as a problem? What REITs in your view are most vulnerable if in fact there is credibility to the article?
