Q: Hello 5i
I must have missed some changes to your site recently. I see the “heart” is gone and some kind of counter and another symbol have been added.
Could you please explain the changes or point me to an explanation within the site.
Thank you
Dave
Q: The market does not like the decline in sales and for that matter the acquisition as well. Do you think to blame the strike for the extent of decline is justified?
If you think it is worth a hold, would you take a loss for tax purposes and visit later. what is the likelihood of a bounce into the year end?
Regards
Rajiv
Total return, long term investor with a diversified portfolio. If you had new money to add to a portfolio, would you consider CCL.B and T decent prospects, especially on weakness in the last year or so (these are small holdings in my portfolio)?
Thanks, Michael
Q: I have .85 and .79 % holdings respectively in the above 2 companies. The dividend yields are paltry so I'm thinking of consolidating them . Which of the two do you see with better growth potential or could you recommend 3 or 4 others with better growth opportunities irrespective of sector allocation with a dividend and without a dividend. I already hold CSU, LMN, TOI, TFII, GLXY, HPS.A
Thank -you
Jeff
Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
BDI just reported good Q3 results and I think raised the dividend. What do you think of it going forward? Is it a good time to sell or does it deserve to be held for another quarter or two..I am in the black! Thanks...your objective perspective is always helpful in my decision making.
Our RESP for my 13-year-old daughter is currently valued at about $42k. It is comprised of 25% Google, 25% AMD, 25% DSG, 13% Apple, and 12% VMD. Wondering if you could please give me a few ideas for another stock or ETF (Canadian or American) that I might add to this mix, as I will be contributing another $6K soon. Thanks. Brad
Q: Could you please tell me what is the risk of buying this preferred today? I believe it resets in Sept 2027. Rates will likely be lower then, but what would the yield and price look like then relative to today's value and rate. I'm looking for USD income but with a dividend tax credit benefit. Any other suggestions (MG, NTR, QSR?) instead of this strategy? Thanks
Q: Hello 5i,
Just had a look at ATS balance sheet which your report on Sept 5th suggested had improved. Can you help me understand how the more than doubling of "goodwill and other intangibles" which in march of 2020 were $800+million, compared to march 2023 were $1.7 billion will impact the company going forward? How did "intangible" assets grow so much and does this typically inflate assets on the Balance Sheet? Total debt in that time frame has also doubled. With reporting due next week(?) is there anything else you can shed light on for we shareholders?
Does ATS usually meet or miss on numbers?
TIA,
Q: One of my advisory services informed me that Plantro bout $7,500,000 worth of DND stock last week. It already seems to own 10% so it's ownership will be pretty substantial.
Who are they and what do you think about that purchase?
Q: TEAM has a lot of people selling. I am still hanging on to it, but due to the amount of people selling, I think most people sell and buy a stock with more up side i.e. Alphabet, NVDA, MSFT, etc. which in the long run will probably be a better move than waiting for TEAM to bottom out and recover. What is your take on this? Thanks again.
It’s that time again where I move cash stock into a TFSA, that is for Jan 24. Looking at selling ATZ from cash for a tax loss and rebuying after 30 days in a TFSA. Or, transferring LMN and SHOP into the TFSA.
Q: Thoughts on the quarter and outlook? seems to be trending in the right direction. Can this be one you hold for the next decade and be rewarded nicely?
Q: I own a full position in CSU and half positions in KXS and TOI. I have noticed that you like DSG and that you listed it as one of several companies with a large moat. Would you consider it to differ enough from CSU, KXS, and TOI to be added to my portfolio? Thank you.
Total return, long term investor with a diversified portfolio. I have a tiny position in BAM that I either want to add to or sell. If I sell, I could put the proceeds into BN.
Does it make sense to consolidate into BN or to build a bigger position in BAM? Which is likely to have the best total return over the next few years?
