Q: Any further comments on Teck after its 25% increase on Friday (on huge volume) ? While coal seems to have no future, and copper and zinc seem still to be in the doldrums, should we now treat this company as an oil play due to Fort Hills ? Do you think the share price has bottomed ?

Q: Hello Peter and Team,

Should the news below be of concern, or does it represent a good entry point for AQN, since it's down today? I was considering AQN for my TFSA, since I have some new cash to deploy since the 'merger' of CDV. Or would you say that AQN isn't enough of a "grower" for a TFSA?

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Attorney General of Louisiana Charles C. Foti, Jr., Esq. and the law firm of Kahn Swick & Foti, LLC ("KSF") are investigating the proposed sale of The Empire District Electric Company ("Empire" or the "Company") (NYSE: EDE) to Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (TSX: AQN). Under the terms of the proposed transaction, shareholders of Empire will receive only $34.00 for each share of Empire that they own. KSF is seeking to determine whether this consideration and the process that led to it are adequate, or whether the consideration undervalues the Company.

If you believe that this transaction undervalues the Company and/or if you would like to discuss your legal rights regarding the proposed sale, you may, without obligation or cost to you, e-mail or call KSF Managing Partner Lewis S. Kahn (lewis.kahn@ksfcounsel.com) toll free at any time at 855-768-1857.

Q: Hi Team, I noticed that there has been an offer to take Sirus XM Canada private. The offer is in the vicinity of $4.25. Yesterday's price was $3.68. I paid $5.00 for the stock. Would you suggest waiting to see if the offer increases or sell now as an opportunity to get out with a limited loss.
Thank you for your consideration.

Q: Peter and Team,

TransCanada has a bond with a maturity in July 17, 2025. The bond has a yield to current ask of 3.48% (coupon is 3.30%). Any thoughts or concerns about purchasing this bond with the intent to hold to maturity?

For information, my current portfolios are 85% equity and 15% debt.

Q: My energy weight is very small overall. Currently holding CPG, VET, CNQ, SU, ENB and TOU. The only energy position not paying me a dividend to wait for a recovery is TOU. Would a switch to PEY be prudent to collect a dividend? Would PEY carry more risk than TOU. Do have have concerns with any of my other energy holding? Best, Don

Q: Just a comment to add about Rogers Sugar, in the short term they may see a benefit in volumes as a dead bird was recently found in the silos at their competitor's Redpath Sugar Facility in Toronto. From what I hear a lot of sugar had to be disposed of with downstream users scrambling to find alternative sources. The facility is still shut down until the source of the bird is found. Let's hope these downstream users stick with Rogers Sugar and nobody finds any bird parts in their food! http://www.quintenews.com/2016/02/a-sweet-mess-for-redpath-sugar/107360/

Q: Your thoughts on FFH acting as a portfolio diversifier and hedge against deflation? Seems they have a large derivative bet that potentially pays big if deflation hits.
