Q: Hi 5i - I want to add one CDN and 2 US stocks to my well diversified portfolio. Can you recommend a few that look attractive at the moment? I'm looking for small to mid cap growth, and have a 15yr time frame. Thanks!

Q: Peter,

Could you please advise whether ala.r still makes more sense as an investment than ala. Correct me if I've got anything wrong here: Given the share price difference between when receipts were issued ($31) and today's share price (~$25). If the WGL merger fails, one gets the $31, right? If it succeeds, one gets equivalent shares in ala which appears to be making a decent recovery in share price. Meanwhile, one collects the ~9% dividend.

The only downside I see to ala.r versus ala is that the bid/ask spread is wider (is this because it trades more thinly). In this case, do you recommend a limit order?

Q: stock price had a nice pop this afternoon after being down earlier in the day...
what are your thoughts on Kinross at this time?
i currently own a few thousand shares at $5.00 and was thinking of adding more considering the volatility in the recent price of gold.
(my total gold holdings at this time are about 3%)

Q: If you could add any company to a portfolio what would be your top 3 companies (regardless of current holdings) taking into account valuation and current share price. Can you also provide earnings expectations for 2018/2019 for the three names provided? Thanks

Q: Regarding questions on SIS and other companies that announce earnings release dates. Some announcements are made before the market opens while others are after market close. Do you think there is a tendency to announce after market close if results aren't stellar and to force share holders to sleep on it rather than announcing before market open and having a knee jerk panic sell off? Although some may worry until market opens in the morning and selling could be just as bad. Have you ever pondered release time frame versus good/bad results?

Thanks
Dave
