Q: I have a ? on ISHARES overall holdings approach. I am not a big ETF holder but own a 3% position in FIE. I am in the annual review process and was surprised to see the top two holdings of the fund are other ISHARE products, making up almost 30% of their holding. Is this typical with iShares investing so much with their own product. Its not giving me the level of bank and insurance company investment I would of thought. CPD makes up about 20% and I already hold a 2% holding in that fund. Your view please.

Q: Could you please recommend 3 or 4 Monthly income ETF’s for a portfolio amount of $100,000 for a retired couple. We would divide the etf’s equally. Thank you

Q: In your portfolio analysis you have recommended for the utilities sector that I purchase either ZUT or XUT.
I own Fortis now.Do you recommend that I sell this now and purchase 100% ETFs for the suggested Utilities sector?
Since I also need additional US investments.which of the following US ETFs would you recommend RYU or XLU?
Thanks again for your guidance.

Q: My daughter is 20 and has maximized her TFSA allotment in an annual lump sum for past three years, and is likely to maximize every year going forward. I'm trying to simplify her investing so what ETF's would you recommend if she doesn't need the money for three years? Would you recommend different ETF's if she doesn't need for 10 years? What about 20+ years?

Q: Good morning
On a RSP portfolio that is about 6% of our net assets, what would you think of the strategy of the Dogs of the Dow? Is it worth the trouble or would I be just as well to put in DIA, I could concentrate the low or no dividends in investments accounts.
I saw there is an ETF which purports to follow the dogs of the dow, but its mer is .75%, I would not spend that much in trading commissions in just following the strategy.
Your Thoughts?
Thank you.
