Q: If you hold the view that in general, world economies are slowly improving, would now be the time to buy into the consumer/discretionary spending area, which I assume have been beat up in the last few years. Are there ETFs that cover this specific space? Would an ETF be the best way to go?

Q: The US portion of my portfolio consists of CSCO, MCD, UTX, BHP and AAPL (a little bit heavy on the Tech side because of no exposure on the Canadian technology front). I took some profits and trimmed my exposure to CSCO and MCD after nice run-ups and am looking to use the proceeds to further diversify. I'm thinking perhaps a US financial (and really a play on Consumer Discretionary spending) like AXP or a Medical Supplies company like BDX. Or does something else jump out at you as being a nice complement to what I own? Thanks.

Q: Peter, thanks for identifying HEW as an ETF that equal weights the TSX 60. In your opinion do you think there is an advantage holding some of this fund with a MER of .50 vs funds with .11? Also if yes what % of a total CDN ETF 60 holding would you allocate to HEW?

Q: For the fixed income portion of my US holdings would stocks like MTGE, AGNC, NLY, HTS and CMO be appropriate. They all have high yields. Or does the downside risk on their share prices when interest rates increase make this an unwise investment plan?
