Q: Peter and team,

Is BEP.UN the "best" way to play our lovely politicians' relentless drive toward renewable energy? It seems the way that public policy and public opinion is going, people are going to move toward renewable power regardless of economics. Would BEP.UN continue to observe significant growth from this?

I am very scared to invest in any solar manufacturers or battery producers because they all seem so risky.

Thoughts?

Q: Hi Guys. I bought AFN last June @ $46.60. It fell like a knife bottoming end of Feb to $25 and then began rising nicely until 6 days ago, hitting $39. Now 4 straight days down and back to $37. It reports Apr 28. All the gain-back off the low is evaporating, the ag industry (fertilizer at least)seems out of favour (AFN had been bucking the trend), and I worry it is headed right back down. It does have the cash to continue the 6% div. It doesn't seem to be making money, ROE is terrible & book value seems high at 4.5x. Should I get out now while the loss is "only" 20%, wait for the Q1 result and then decide, or simply hang on and when it nears bottom again buy some more on the hope the company will either make some money or that something will act as an upward catalyst someday? Thanks for your thoughts & suggestions.

Q: I like HCG for its decent and growing dividend as well as low P/E multiple and O.K. growth prospects. However, I have been trimming it to get it down to a 5% position. What stock with a decent dividend and valuation profile would you recommend as a replacement? I already have full positions in BNS, NA, TRP, OTC, CNR, MDA, ATD, HCG as well as 2/3 positions in BAM, FTS and AD plus a 1/2 position in T and some broad US ETFs. I really appreciate your service and the recent changes to the site are excellent.
Thanks

Q: Peter and Team,

Any thoughts on why Savaria has been popping this morning? I am looking at it up 5.73% right now with no obvious news anywhere.

I like the name. LIke it long term. Bought it as 2.5% - 3.0$ weithing and its now 4.3%. How big a position is too big for a name like this. I would normally be comfortable with 5%.

Q: I am sitting on the sidelines with well over 6 figures intended for the oil patch. However, I have decided to wait a little longer based on current prices and/or conditions. In the interim I was contemplating parking funds into GUD based primarily on your very positive opinion of the CEO as well as the companies excellent Balance Sheet notwithstanding the current stock price which is currently flat from last year at this time. Your comments are appreciated. Thank you.

Q: Hi, MDA stock is showing some signs of life again, for past few days, after announcement of the US based CEO. Recent results also reflected some stability and a possible growth ahead. I moved out of the co. few months ago, due to inconsistent business results, slowing trend in satellite sales and stagnating stock performance. You have rated this stock highly in past. What is your view for restarting a position, of course, for a long term hold ? Thanks

Q: I have roughly 5% exposure to infrastructure, exclusively through WSP. I am comfortable with my position (my entry point is quite favourable), and do not wish to trim it. I have been making a concerted effort to consolidate the number of positions in my portfolio (aiming for roughly 30-40 in total) as I feel it makes it easier to make decisions on what to include, as well as when to enter and exit a position. My question is whether I should increase my exposure to this sector, either through STN or SNC, or if I should focus on improving exposure to other sectors. If I were to increase my exposure to infrastructure, I would only pick one position. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Q: Hi Peter and team,

I would like your thoughts on the recent partnership deal with Credit Suisse and also what your outlook is on CF in the near-term? I would have thought they'd be showing more correlation to the market and resources sector rising of late. Do you think if there continues to be strong market recovery that they should start to do well?

Thanks
