Q: Regarding my question earlier about 2 REIT's to diversify existing position in AX.un, I probably should have pointed out preference for market cap and mimimum current yield. I like (and anticipated) your recommendation of Chartwell however IIP.un sacrifices too much current yield and market cap security to make up for potential growth for me. Would CAR.un fit nicely given my desire for a larger market cap? Is H&R too much like AX.un? thx!
Q: Why the big increase on High Liner Foods today Aug.16 of over .12 percent, and on Stella-Jones is the decrease done or what is a good entry point to buy, thus is HLF overdone on the up side and is SJ overdone on the down size, thank you in advance.
Q: New President and CFO formerly from Palladin who worked with Goodman and was instrumental in selling Palladin to endo has been hired at Knight. Once acquisitions are announced as she will surely make acquisitions this should kickstart the stock. Am I right in that Knight is sitting on a lot of cash?
Q: Hi, I am a value investor and note that Auto parts makers are trading at historically low multiples even though earnings growth appears intact. Can I have your favorite of MG, LNR and MRE with respect to the best 18 month to 3 year return.
Q: The CEO has made clear that his number one objective is to grow revenue and to do so profitably. Short-intermediate term share price be damned. He is prepared to compromise earnings, increase debt and reduce margins to achieve this objective. At some point I presume he expects to drop revenue to the bottom line and show strong earnings. My question for you: is this a sound corporate development strategy and do you feel this approach will prove successful?
Q: Hello Peter & Team, in my portfolio I have positions in all sectors of the economy except for materials. Other than gold stocks, could you suggest 2 or 3 names, in the materials sector, that have decent dividend and growth potential ? Thank you, Gervais
I've held Questor for some time and the stock has fallen dramatically over the last couple of years. Would you recommend holding on to the stock or perhaps holding out in the event the stock recovers?
Q: Hello Peter, I know this is a low-volume traded company, and that things have seemed rather quiet lately. Do your views remain positive for a longer-term hold? And do you have any information as to the likelihood or timing of CXI obtaining its banking license? Thanks!
Q: I would like to thank you for insisting on having a portfolio approach and always trim/add to maintaining the balance weighting was able to absorb the AVO shock. I have BAD which went up 25% and AVO went down 25% with no net loss. Had I maintained my high weighting on AVO I would have been a sad story. On the question I would like to know if I can sell gain on BAD and buy AVO that will balance it. I am having a long term view and would like you opinion.
Q: I have just brought my soaring PBH down by over half and it is still 5% of my portfolio. I know it and L are very different despite being in the same asset category, but will PBH "do" nonetheless without my adding a more traditional grocery store?
Thank you for your help and advice. I am with those who recognize that you do not have a crystal ball, and given the unreliability of crystal balls, it's just as well
Q: I am sure you are going to get peppered with questions about avo, so sorry to add another. I have held on from $30.00 and watched the fall. Done with it. Exit strategy - wait for the panic to settle or would you pull the plug now? With medium to higher risk tolerance, where would you move into? I hold avo in 6 accounts, all registered unfortunately.
Q: What do you think of TPK at the current levels? The stock is near a 1 year low but the cash flow was down a lot when they reported last quarter results if I remember correctly. Thanks in advance.
