Q: How much debt does Enbridge have? If interest rates go up 1% in the next 12 months what is the additional cost to them and how does this impact free cash flow? Thank you as always.

Q: I currently hold PEGI at a small loss. It was picked by our advisor when we had one. I'm now managing the account and am less familiar with it so am considering selling and replacing with Crius, which at least I have 5i to support me with.
Both have their risks...what are your thoughts on the switch?
Cam.

Q: What are your thoughts on this company? I have a small position, have had reasonable growth and good dividends. What I have noted is the EPS are -.20/ share. Do I sell what I have since I am up or do I add to my position for more of the same (growth and dividends).
Thanks
Thanks
Q: This is a question asking for clarification on a question Bryan asked about clf on march 16.
He was concerned about preservation of capital. You seem to suggest that GIC's might bea good route as they would preserve capital. Please correct me if i am wrong but i was under the impression that if one holds a bond index fund such as this that one will likely get a return of capital as well, as new bonds at new prices will gradually be added. Is tis more or less right. And if it is, then it would probably be reasonal to stick with CLF, no
Thanks

Q: I have been researching Crius in great depth and I cannot find the cause of the price freefall. I am beginning to think there Crius might be impacted by the new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission guidelines on pipeline and electricity transmission line profits. Still, it seems a stretch the Commission would destroy an industry.

Q: Good morning 5i
Missing from my notes is the reason for opening a position in crius energy. I thought it was on a positive comment or portfolio inclusion at 5i. But I can find neither direct reference.
Would you please remind me of the attractiveness of kwh ......recognizing this is not a fortis or Brookfield size/risk type company.
What is it that is not working and dragging the stock price down?
Thanks
Dave

Q: Other than ENB. what other Canadian stocks could be effected by the MLP ruling and to what degree. also if and when would this come into effect.
Q: I'd like to understand the taxing of distributions/Dividends better
For example CAD dividends receive the dividend tax credit. But other distributions are taxed as interest, others maybe capital gains? like AW income fund. REITs etc
Could you outline the different types of taxation that can happen for cash paid out from a publicly traded canadian security, AND how to distinguish what type of distribution a certain security makes.

Q: One of the BNN guest mentioned that his calculation shows that ENB could drop to 33.84 where it would be a buy. For now he staying away from this stock! Also this morning another advisor strongly suggested to stay away from ENB !
Could I have your opinion please.

Q: Your opinion of this stock. Have held for years , but seems to be going to the dogs. Also do you not list payout ratio & website for stocks
Q: May I have your perspective on Hardwood Distribution's (symbol now HDI) results announced yesterday, please.
Q: Would now be a good time to take a long term position in ZWU for the covered call yield and some safety? Or does the sector rotation, rising interest rate potential and this news on MLP pipelines I don't fully understand mean perhaps wait a week or two as it might soften more?
Q: Can I have your thoughts on NWC's earnings? Seems like hurricane aftermath and US tax changes are a drag.

Q: I read in a previous post that you favored HPR and ZPR over CPD (Sept 18, 2017) because of the rate reset. I am currently adding to my fixed income and would it be a good strategy to add 50 / 50 ZPR and CPD for the preferred portion ?
(I also own a larger position in CBO).
Also, do you recommend adding a convertible bond etf (CVD or other) for diversification purposes ? Thank you for your comments.

Q: I'm confused about this stock. BMO Investorline shows it's undervalued, and has an estimated 17% EPS growth forecast. But, they also show a +10% increase in revenues, and a -74% decrease in EPS in 2017. And then there's their business model: "provides electricity, natural gas and solar products to residential and commercial customers through an innovative brand strategy and multi-channel marketing approach". Are these the people behind locking in unsuspecting customers in binding contracts that promise to lower their utility rates, but actually end up costing them more? Your comments on their business and financials would be appreciated.
Q: Whats Your opinion on QSR at this time and is it eligible for the dividend tax credit in a taxable account? Thanks
Q: IPL versus aqn, of the two, which would you choose and why?
Q: Please let us know what you find out about ENB as far as it being involved with master limited partnerships. My quick search tells me Enbridge is a normal corporation rather than an MLP. Enbridge Energy Partners, EEP, is an MLP. My information concerns the U.S. stocks. I don't know if there would be different considerations for Canadian shares of ENB. Thank you for your ongoing information, education, and guidance.
Q: In my portfolio I selected CLF for a significant amount of the fixed income portion of my accounts (in both RRSP and non reg accounts). A the time (almost 2 years ago) I thought it would be the safest since it is a government bond index. However, am down by almost 6% since purchasing. My priority for fixed income is to not lose capital. Do you have another suggestion? Perhaps GICs make more sense? Are there worries in the market regarding Canadian government debt (i.e considering escalating debt levels at the federal level as well as some provinces - like Ontario and Alberta).
Q: Recently BCE files for debt shelf up to $4b.Will this include selling of shares which will dilutive & negative when price is near 52 week low.Txs for u usual great services & views.
