Q: I am thinking about swapping BEI for SIA based on return, 2% vs 5.4%. Is this a good time? I am retired and living entirely on dividend income.

Q: Regarding Bonds,
I just wanted to clarify if I got this concept right. With interest rates increasing and a few more planned increases over the next year..The bond prices decrease as the yield increases..So if one can predict with some certainty the expected increase in rates will stop..is that the only time when bond purchases are beneficial?
Brookfield, and Berkshire have purchased solid assets at bargain prices over time. I own full positions in both of these but for a longterm would you consider these as a replacement to fixed investement allocation. If you agree I would double the positions to 10% each. Thanks for your insight.

Q: I have some questions on Altagas. Would a person be better to buy ACI later this month, because it should have better growth(propane export).
Also, If I were to buy Altagas now , is there not a fair chance of the dividend being cut, because of reduced cash flow(selling Canadian assets). Would you please comment on these aspects. Will ACI have a dividend and how much.
TSGI I was thinking of selling for tax purposes and would like to buy back after 30 days.. Do you know when the next report will be out, I thought perhaps in the middle of Nov.. Thanks in advance Love your service Earl

Q: Would you please provide your perspective on this stock for a retired, income oriented investor. Juicy 17% dividend is hard to resist .... Thanks.
Q: I recently read a article in the Globe and Mail about companies on the TSX that have a PEG ratio of less than 1.0. CHR was included in this article. It had a PEG ratio of 0.4. I realize there are many criteria to consider when investing but PEG ratio is one that I think is important. Based on his information CHR is either a screaming buy or the earnings growth rate is way out of whack. Which do you think and would you recommend CHR for long term investment (5 years or more)?
Q: I would like your update on ZST in this current market THX Mike

Q: I have a question about Northland Power. They have completed a number of large wind projects which should start accreting significant cashflow. Why is the market beating them up so badly?
Q: DRG.UN seems to be melting down more aggressively than the market recently. Don't seem to see any news that could prompt this. What am I missing ?

Q: Your thoughts on Div?
Q: Hello, I bought ine for the dividend, stability, and a little growth. Now I’m down 16%, not terrible but also not that good.
Could you give me views on ine ,is it worth keeping now that it’s down? Or move on, I also have Bep.un and Aqn that I could add to.
Thanks

Q: Please could you let me know the payout ratio for AQN? I read that dividends may be higher than earnings. Any concern you see with dividend growth/sustainability in the future?
Many thanks!

Q: Is the current market price a decent entry point for these two stocks, in your opinion? I'm looking for relatively secure income rather than much growth.
Q: I'm a little confused. Hoping you can help. In their last news report, they have now sold the Petro chemical plant which I understood was to be a big driver of future profits. Stock has not sold off, can you explain how this will benefit company in future?

Q: My wife and I have recently retired and we have enough from CPP, OAS, and a company pension to cover our basic needs. We are bring over about 650K from an investment company that we are not happy with. With that money I would like to earn about 4% in dividend income to pay for vacations, and extras for us. I am thinking of taking 400K and investing it in your income portfolio and 250K in 3 or 4 dividend paying international funds. What are you thoughts? Could you also recommend a few US and International dividend paying ETF's. Thanks for all of your help.
Q: Members keep asking about the dividend safety for this co. It sits in an interest sensitive space so it is down, it is a unique business model as well but am I wrong in thinking that so long as profits are not changing and their subscription base is not changing significantly then the dividend is better than safe and could even increase. I could see stock price being an issue if the company were needing to raise money or make a purchase with stock but a company making the same money now and now maybe more with cost cutting as when it was significantly more expensive is a great value. Is there a metric I am missing that puts company at risk.
