Q: On the US side, we've owned TOT, CSCO, MO and PM for some time now and they have languished. Is patience merited or should I sell these positions and replace them with other US stocks? We're retired and want to preserve capital but do like dividend income. thanks
Q: I see Enbridge down close to 3% today as I write this. Are you aware of any news related to this drop. Could you please give me your current opinion on this stock and whether or not you think this is a good time to buy. Thanks.
Q: Weed is trading near $20. Is it a interesting speculation near that price? Thanks for your previous advice on that stock; you saved me thousands of $.
Q: Hello 5i team, I am slowly reducing my exposure to equities for two reasons: position my portfolios ( US + CDN) for a possible recession or slowdown and also, I am 66 year old and my portfolios are 80% equities.
I have taken small positions to above bonds ETFs.. May I have your comments and also, would you recommend short/long or medium bonds and treasuries? As well, do you have other recommendations for someone my age? Thanks CR
Q: Portfolio Analytics suggests we increase our US and International allocation to 35% and 25% (Currently much lower in both) and also decrease our equities and increase our fixed income to achieve a 60/40% split . (Currently we are at 85/15%). Looking at XBAL as a simple way to help achieve this, using some cash and proceeds of TSGI which I plan on selling soon. Any concerns or other suggestions ?
Thanks as always.
Q: With their last Q results, do you agree, the stock is a better buy today than was yesterday.
Do you see the SP reaching it’s all time high again soon ?
Thanks
Q: Spruce Point Capital has issued a report against Cintas. Can you give any comment on the reputation of Spruce Point or how seriously we should take their report?
Q: Have $20,000.00 sitting in a LIRA account. Please recommend 3-4 ETFs that I can hold for the next twenty years. and drip (no bonds) would like to double every 10 years. Would Dividend Growth ETFs a good choice over that time frame or just growth stock ETFs?
Thanks Cec
Q: Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP.UN) now forms just over 9% of our joint registered investments and although that is much higher percentage than any other holding (and may be inadvisable), I am somewhat reluctant to sell any, because it is one that has been a winner from the day I bought it. That is in stark contrast to quite a few other stocks that I apparently bought at their height which have since plummeted.
I need a trimming strategy and would like you to give a detailed description of how best to maintain the number of shares held as long as possible, but sell some if the price starts to drop. Perhaps there is a link that you would prefer to send to me.
I have read your opinions on Limit and Stop Limit sales at one stage or other and have also tried this, but it hasn't always worked as I thought it would.
What would you suggest is the best way to address this?
Q: Hi 5i
I believe NMX will be reporting Fri nov 15...,what are your expectations for results? Given recent uncertainty over financing and continual decline in NMX share price to 0.18, in your opinion does this project have any chance of completion. Is it worth any consideration at this point or is it destined for bankruptcy?
Thx for any insights.
