Q: Further to my Aug. 18 question, you replied net income for the quarter was $2.1 B and all numbers in the billions. Understandable since if you read the bottom part of their news release it presents the numbers but fails to change an earlier heading, what I'm taking as a typo. CEO states in the body "Net income of $2 million and $5 million for the three and six months ended were higher than the comparative periods due to..."

So it's $2 million vs a $1 million loss last year. I know it's unaudited, but do you ever see this kind of error? Link: https://www.5iresearch.ca/company/tsx/BAMR

Is the reason you selected TSU over BAMR for the growth portfolio simply because the latter is new?

Q: I own the above in registered accounts. Is there two much duplication, in particularly between BAMR and BAM.A? Thanks

Q: I received one share in a non registered account and two shares in a RRIF account. Now what to do with them? Exchange them for BAM.A (despite the fact they BAMR is selling at a premium to BAM.A)? Keep holding? Eventually try to add more to BAMR? Is it better to keep it simple and focus on the BAM.A position for the future.? Is BAMR likely to show greater growth then BAM.A? Earnings report was decent. Acquisitions look promising.

Q: In a previous question (Asked by Bonnie on August 05, 2021) you ranked BAMR over BAM.A as "best for growth". In the recent Brookfield letter to share holders (on page 2) it says:

"As a reminder, Brookfield Reinsurance is a paired security with BAM, meaning that it is designed to trade in
tandem with the share price of BAM, while providing investors an alternative way to own BAM shares"

Does this not mean (in theory at least) that the same return should be expected from both or am I missing something here? Do you see an advantage to one over the other?

Thanks!

Q: Hello:

Could you explain the difference between TSU and BAMR? Could you also explain the Reinsurance industry? With TSU doing very well recently and the BAMR spinout, it seems like a developing field ie good growth investment potential. Which of the two would you pick from a more conservative, balanced perspective?

My thanks.

Q: My TFSA is pretty much the way I want it. But now I'm organizing my non-registered account. First, Is there too much overlap between BAMR and SLF. (if so which one would you prefer). Second, Is there too much overlap between FTS and H (if so which one would you prefer. Could you put all of these in rank order, best fundamentals first. Finally, should I just take equal sized positions in all, even position sizes end up being quite small, like somewhere between 1.5% and 2%. If you think those size positions are too small I will eliminate the last 2 or 3 from your rank ordering. I mainly want the dividends in a set and forget style setup, and I will add to positions as funds come available. Thank you again for excellent insight and advice. I learn an enormous amount from the Q/As daily.

Q: Can you look into your crystal ball and give me a list in order which of the above stock would be best for growth in a 3 year hold.
