Q: Happy New Year. I am looking at buying a gold position in one or 2 of these companies. Which would be your choice,(or other recommended company) would you buy at this time. Looking for a medium term hold.
Regards,
Q: Fnv represents about 4 to 5 % of my portfolio.
Do you think it is a good idea to gradually switch 1/ 2 of Fnv into Mstr over the next 12 months to take advantage of the fluctuating prices in the Bitcoin market?
Q: Good morning, as a relatively young retired investor I'm still leaning vs growth. As a portfolio year end adjustment I would like to hike my exposure to materials by approx 1%. Having said that my gold exposure has suffered and now sits at less that 3%. I own LUN at 2%. Where would you add ? In real estate I have a 2% in DIR and 1% in TCN.. Would like to add to maybe 5% of portfolio. Dividends are welcome but not a necessity since I can buy in either my Cash or in my RIFF account. New suggestions are welcome since your expertise gave me handsome results since I've subscribed to your services.
Q: The vaccine news and rollout seem to be driving the price of gold down. What is your longer term view of gold and Kirkland Lake?
Thank you for your help!
I need to sell some of my shares in these companies to fund another investment. Of the stocks listed, in what order would you be inclined to sell first? Thank you.
Q: Hi Peter and Ryan,
I own above stocks and represent 6% weight in my total portfolio. The stocks have came down a bit with recent weakness on the gold and silver movement. Should I trim down some of the position? I am still in profit but worry that these stocks may go down further. thanks!
Q: Good Afternoon 5i Team,
Can you please rank these gold companies from best to worse based on forecasted growth in the next 2-3 years and please briefly explain why.
Thanks!
Q: I bought some FNV last year and exited my position in April 2020 (too soon but still a double). I am thinking of returning to gold as I now have none (and feel uncomfortable with none).
a) Is this a decent time to return?
b) Should I return to FNV now that it has dropped back from its high?
c) Or should I choose one of GLD:US, IAU:US or SGOL:US and if so which do you prefer?
Thanks for your help.
Q: On Friday the stock dropped . Factors that may be responsible could be:
- Triple witching expiry
- US Dollar trend down
- Gold price is moving up but slowing
There was a large volume.
Q: I am biased to see gold continue to move higher as we get closer to the US election. Particularly if Biden wins, since Trump will no doubt contest the results and pretty much do all he can to remain in the White House beyond Inauguration Day, resulting in heightened volatility.
At the same time, I could also see a scenario where the US$ rallies on the back of a FTQ bid amid this volatility.
So does one add to gold exposure with the view that the US$ rallies in the coming months? Or do you think any potential uptick in gold will be mitigated by a stronger US$?
And if you were to be relatively bullish on gold, would you buy, say, XGD, or would you add a company like FNV or ABX?
Q: If one anticipates a significant pick up in inflation due to all the extra costs related to Covid-19, what are the sectors likely to benefit? Could you give 3-4 suggestions for Can and US companies which would be expected to do well in that scenario? Thank you for your great insights?
