Q: Your comments on their 3rd quarter results please. Looks like they continue to forge ahead. I have most of the balanced portfolio with full positions, and half of the growth at 3% positions or less for a total of 60% per your suggestion. Re your philosophy of adding to a winning position, and considering Kinaxis performance to date would you bring it up to a full position.
Thanks Peter
Thanks Peter
Q: I am considering stepping into a small position in Tata Motors - do you have any negative (or positive) thoughts on it?
Thanks so much. Your opinion is much appreciated!

Q: Could you comment on their quarterly results?

Q: Peter, Do you still see capital power as a good stable performer? It appears to me that with coal being phased out by governments, probably sooner than we might have thought, it does not bode well for this company as it has many coal fired plants. Have owned it for years and really has been a poor performer. Thanks for your answer, Ken
Q: Can you please explain what the difference is between the Mawer Balanced (104) and the Mawer Balanced Tax Effective (105) and if one would be more suited to a registered vs non registered account. Thank you.
Q: For those holding TCK.B and waiting for a recovery in commodity prices, do you feel the outlook for continuing to hold TCK.B improved when considering the 2015 Q3 report? They seem to be making good moves with debt reduction via the new revenues from the streaming agreements, and also focusing on cost cutting. Thanks.
Q: Not really a question, more a reminisce and comment on the shorts.I recall years ago a short attack on Fairfax Financial, I think it came shortly after they listed in the U.S. The stock was driven down into the $70 dollar range. The innuendo was that Fairfax management was using off-shore companies in a less than kosher way. I just looked at my FFH this morning and it is at $650, high earlier this year $739.
Best defense against shorts (the mudslinging variety) is to know the company and have faith in your investment analysis and the management (and of course one particularly un-conflicted investment web site).
Many thanks to the 5i staff.

Q: Hello 5i, Can I please get your views on this shipping company. I came across this company when researching oil shipping companies and then noticed Zaks research had a few upgrades, then the ceo was on BNN today. Their fleet of ships is increasing, their eps seems to be growing as is their dividend. I cannot decipher their book value or their debt levels. thanks
Q: Is PPY a great long term buy at these level ? Any specific reason why it has been so weak lately ? Thank you.
Q: What is your current opinion on the growth and utilization of this stock given its published figures?
Q: Hi guys,
Someone asked about you opinion of CU and FTS, and in your response you preferred CU.
Do you think ACO.X is a better way of getting exposure to CU, or would you just purchase CU directly.
Thanks.

Q: Hi,
Does Metro own a chunk of Alimentation or Jean Coutu? If I were to switch from Metro to Loblaw, should I also buy the company (ATD or PJC, depending on which MRU owns) to round out the investment?
Thanks, Heather

Q: Just curious as to why Stantec's March 31st, 2015 dividend is ineligible? Is it normal for companies to periodically make a dividend ineligible?
Q: Peter, my two real estate companies in my portfolio are CIG and FSV and I want to rebalance down to 10 or 12%. I have read your recent comments about these companies and would like your opinion as to what two or three real estate companies you would use in a balanced portfolio. I am thinking of selling both and buying some stocks with more upside.
Thanks, Stephen
Thanks, Stephen
Q: Hi, I would appreciate your comments on CSU earnings released Wednesday evening. Looks like a nice beat on EPS ($4.67 against $4.23 estimate)and EBITDA ($120 mln against $117 mln est). Currency headwind appears to have impacted organic growth rate for this quarter and 9 months period. Thanks
Q: Hi team, I recently sold MCD (in an RRSP) after the run up, and am looking to redeploy cash into a blue chip healthcare or pharma stock in the US. I'm looking for reliable dividends with capital appreciation, and planning to hold for three plus years. MRK and PFE are looking like good candidates, do you have any favourite blue chip healthcare stocks that you think would be a better fit?
Thanks, Alex
Thanks, Alex
Q: Until recently I had no healthcare exposure. My plan is to add about 4 positions in the US large cap healthcare/bio space. So far I have purchased JNJ and GILD. Can you suggest 2 or 3 other names? Based on the research reports I have read I am leaning toward CELG and AGN, but I'd appreciate your opinion. Thank-you.
Q: I am thinking about investing in 1/3 BIP.UN, 1/3 BPY.UN and 1/3 BEP.UN but I am starting to wonder why I wouldn't just invest in the parent BAM.A if I was to do this. Obviously the dividend of the parent is lower than the three individual spin offs. Do you think that the overall return of BAM.A is the same as the spinoffs generally and is it just an issue of do you want internal share price growth or do you want more as a dividend? Or is the parent somehow inherently slower growing than the spinoffs for some reason? Thx!
Q: I have $1,000,000 I want to invest in VFV & VCE and I am wondering what time frame is best to make the investments. Should it be over a 1 month or several months, tax loss selling etc. Would you have any recommendation? Thanks for your great service. Bill
