Q: SNSR is a U.S. ETF focused on the Internet of Things managed by Global X. I know U.S. isn't your focus, but would appreciate any comments you might be able to provide. Are there other similar ETF's that you would recommend instead and are you aware of any Canadian equivalents ?

Q: Can you please comment on the benefits, if any, of using a monthly income fund for generating a safe monthly income? What kind of return after fund expenses could I expect and are there capital risks? I have equities but am looking for something safer, bonds and GIC's don't seem worth the effort given the low returns. Perhaps what I want (a decent return with minimal risk) isn't available as things are currently. Thanks for the advice, Rob

Q: I have held both Boyd and Enghouse since 2012 and they have both served me well. However of late their share price has stalled and they seem range bound. Would now be a good time to take profits (50%) in both of these companies and use that amount to take an initial position in Shopify?

Thanks

Peter

Q: From what I can gather, the Oil Supply/Demand Gap is supposed to come in line sometime late Q2 or sometime in Q3. At these levels RRX looks very attractive. The have a strong balance sheet with little debt.

Obviously pullbacks are hard to predict. That being said, do you think its reasonable that we'll observe sub $50 prices with news today of a record amount of speculative long positions in Oil?

There is a lot of concern whether a border tax (if implemented) would either exempt Canadian Energy companies.

Q: Hi there. I have very little weight in pharma/biotech sector and very little weight in commodities sector including zero weight in gold/silver. I'm overweight in financials and tech stocks and equal weight in industrials. I Have an addt 25k to invest. Looking for high potential growth over the next 12 months. Not concerned about short term volatility. Can you recommend 2 Cdn stocks and 2 U.S. stocks to consider? What sector do you see having the most potential upside in 2017? Thx for opinion.

Q: Good morning
I was wondering what are your thoughts on Hudson Bay company (HBC). I know retailers are hurting now, is HBC a good value right now? I Recently heard that hbc property holdings are worth quite a bit and that HBC maybe spinning off REIT? What are your thoughts on this and HBC taking over MACY'S.
If HBC is not good, do you have an alternative you recommend?

Q: Hi, I need to pull some money out of my TFSA and would love your thoughts on what to sell. I'm looking at TOY, NFI, and EIF as my "flatliners" (I haven't had them long). Do you have advice about which to drop, or perhaps they'll all shine in the end so I should just trim each one? I will be able to buy back mid-year. Thanks!

Q: Hi is it possible to explain how this occurs or if it does
A company does a financing at say $1.35 with a 1/2 warrant (each full warrant entitles holder to acquire a share at $2 fr 24 months) and the share price is $1.52 (using #s from EMH.v's recent financing as example)
So the share price drops as share holders sell to get in on the deal . My QUESTION is do they also short and use the $1.35 as insurance ?
Hope that makes sense ,
David
