Q: So, is it time to move into resource stocks? They are all moving and I don't want to start buying at the top again. Is the rally for real this time around? Which would you recommend in oil, gas, minerals, metals. Thanks.

This stock has been in a downward drift for some time. Any news? Are you still comfortable with it as a long term hold?

Q: Good morning Gents,
Have a little bit of cash ($2,500) hanging around. Looking at FSZ & ABT.
I also have some GUD (down 20%), also wondering if I should add.
Thanks

Q: Are Qualcomm events relevant?
Q: This was my question and the answer I promptly received yesterday. The answer was spot on but I have full positions in both SIS and GSY. I have sold my KPT today. Do you have a third name that might be suitable to replace it?
Thanks Heaps
Question:
I am trying to break my need to hold on to my losers. I have held KPT for 4 years with nothing to show other than the dividend. I like the dividends but I don't have need of them at this time and I want something with some growth too. Should I give it up? If so any suggestions for a replacement? Thank you
Answer:
KPT really has not created much value, and the stock was higher in 2013 than it is today. For income we would consider it 'so so' and certainly think there are better options out there. We prefer dividend growth, and the dividend has not changed in five years.
We would consider SIS and/or GSY for a nice combination of growth and dividend growth.
Thanks Heaps

Q: Can you share your views on Reitmans please. Is there a chance the stock price could recover some what?
Q: To just add a comment to your reply today, in the last quarterly report the company disclosed that since the end of the last fiscal year it will increase the number of rental units from 26 to 58 by the end of December. Management of this company is terrific and experienced and they would not increase capital spending from $2 million at beginning of the year to $5.3 million by year-end unless they had confidence that they will need this significant ramp up.I expect that the 3rd q results release next week will add more colour to the business outlook or at least the capital budget for 2018. FWIW, I think QST deserves the same kind of evaluation metrics as Photon.
Q: Please provide consensus estimates for KXS earnings to be released later today.
Thanks, peter

Q: I am considering to re-enter the energy market. Of the four stocks here, CJ, WCP, VET and TOG, how would you rank them in terms of their potential combined returns (growth + dividends, and dividend sustainability). Thanks.
Q: Please comment on earnings. Thank you.
Q: Good Morning
French Les Affaires writer Francois Normand carried article Oct. 31st. saying project delayed a year. Also that equity financing now into 2018 and will involve debt 60% and equity 40%. Will this have significant short time effect on stock price. Sell or hold? Thanks.

Q: Regarding Maurice's question about the estimated income for PMIF, as 5i has noted elsewhere it is an etf that duplicates the Pimco mutual fund PMO005. While the indicated yield is small, the average annual return of the latter is 6.62% after one year, 5.19% after three years, 6.42% after five years, and 10.95% since inception. These numbers far exceed the benchmark. Since the etf has less expenses, wouldn't the etf exceed the returns of the mutual fund? Thank you.
Q: Hi 5i
Thanks for the service. Certainly worth the investment.
While in my view I maintain a diversified balanced portfolio, a major market setback would be uncomfortable. As you will likely tell by this question, my Investor behavior and potential investment actions are currently suspect. It only took a couple of Market Pundits to turn me into a potential seller.
Without all the tools to see money flows and changing trends and without a pile of time to dedicate in a way that will distill the varying Market Opinions, it does not take much some days for me to think I should be exiting the market to protect against a set back.
I do hear lots about strong and growing earning in the US and a mending economy in EuroZone.
What is the case and evidence currently showing through indicating higher markets and stronger companies performance? (recognize set backs come from where we are not looking and can happen without notice)
Aside from the global Quantitative Easing experiment and nose bleed valuations for some stock prices, what caution signs are flashing for you?
Thanks
Dave

Q: QST has really started to move in the past 10 days. Could we get your assessment of what is driving the move and how confident one should be with the firm. It almost looks like the stars are starting to align for it (higher oil prices, new government methane gas reduction targets, proven technology). If it reports a strong quarter, what is the upside? Would you complete a position in it now?
