Q: Methanex is hitting new highs. Should I wait for a pull back or is it still a good idea to buy at the new highs? Seems like it has a lot of momentum.
Thanks
Paul
Q: Peter; Further to Richards question - not being a finance guy - if they’re spinning out 60% does this not reduce their WGL ownership and impact the cash needed for the ALA dividend? It was supposedly accretive when purchased but wouldn’t that now be less accretive? Thanks. Rod
Q: Re my Q yesterday, please advise if this is a good time to start a position,Thanks for u answer on ownership interest. Thanks for u usual great services & views
Q: ray.a is your top pick on BNN but is not in any of your portfolio, why ? At current price between mfc and slf which is a better buy ? After the recent news of the awards of contracts is maxr an attractive buy ?
Q: What would you recommend doing with PLI and ITC at this stage given their performance (I'm down materially on both)? Any recommendations for replacements? Thanks.
Q: Just a comment to Curtis' question about the 8% drop in CRH yesterday. The consensus is that the drop is due to hurricane Florence. CRH has many clinics in the Carolina's and surrounding states. This also happened with a hurricane last year where clinics were closed for days and patients appointments had to be rescheduled, which impacted revenues. However none of the clinics are very close to the coast so the impacts should be minimal. CRH has stated that they will make up for any closures by keeping clinics open later once they have reopened.
Q: With this stock down over 35%and still heading south what is your recommendation, hold, sell, buy. I am a dividend investor so is the dividend safe
for the next quarter. I have read your other answers and you indicate it to be a hold
Q: I will sell shares of HPE and GE to harvest some capital loss. I would like to replace those shares by an ETF which have a fund structure that re-invest dividends (as quoted in the September ETF letter) or shares of another company. Could you give me some suggestions?
Thank you
Q: Hi Group if your goal was to generate some cash for the coming (maybe?) downturn in equities what 10 holdings (in order) would you liquidate in the balanced portfolio. Thanks for your views they are very helpful in managing this market
Q: Could you please explain the implications of the initial public offering by Altagas offered today? It sounds like they are selling off their Canadian assets. Do you consider this a good change>
Q: 16% of my portfolio is made up of the above listed stocks.
All are relatively volatile compared to the rest (84%) of my holdings
Do you consider these holdings and their weights to represent excessive risk to a portfolio?
Which of these stocks would you keep and which would you sell to reduce the risk?
Many thanks
John
Q: I currently hold a 4% position in BTO. I don't generally like this sector but have been holding because its "generally recommended" to hold 5% gold/metals position. Right now I'm flat on it so there is no cap/gain or loss to influence a trade.
Do you consider BTO ok to hold at this level and/or should I hold lets say 2% positions in two or three alternatives and if so what would you recommend?
My time frame is 10 years plus.
Thanks
John
