Q: In our unregistered, income account I recently sold LIF and have decided not to return to that stock after 30 days. Instead, planning to buy more of one or two of the existing stocks.
Since this is an income account, yield is important and also quite happy to see total account balance steadily increasing whilst tapping off the cash.
I need some help deciding which ones to add to, and have 3 criteria:
1. Best yield
2. Current portfolio weighting
3. Best value over next 5 to 10 years
3. Can you please help me to rank these stocks from highest to lowest value / growth prospects, or if that is to big a task. Please recommend overall best 3 selections given my criteria.
I see a lot of chatter about rare metals in the media. Some columnists, especially Technical analysts seem to favor this sector. Your answer to a fellow subscriber few months ago seems to lean towards REMX. However, it's returns seem to lag ZMT/XBM.
Do you think there is a role for rare metals at this time in one's portfolio? If so, what is your favorite ETF and why?
Q: Given the never ending downwards trend of the market, I want to invest $10000 in US market and $10000 in Canadian market in dividend stocks, with at least 5% dividend.
Can you recommend 3 US stocks and 3 Canadian stocks. ETFs are also acceptable.
Q: I would appreciate your latest opinion on AAV? If you are not impressed with it, could you please suggest some competitors that you would choose instead? I wanted to use it for my TFSA. Thanks for your service.
Q: I was wondering what the difference is between these two companies. I own a small amount of SLF and am thinking of buying more or adding MFC.
I value your opinion.
Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
AP is a small cap company in Pittsburg since 1929. Please give me your general assessment. I know they are in a 3 stage plan and has decent management. Do you think it has any merit as a contrarian play? Will they benefit from infrastructure spending even in a downturn?
Thanks...as usual!
Q: Hi, I would appreciate if you can provide your feedback about WELL Health Technologies. Pros, Cons, potential, Balance sheet & Cash etc. Do you find it attractive for Long term hold.
Thanks
Q: I am curious as to your current opinion on APPS. I hold both TSLA and APPS in my TFSA account w/ TSLA now being around 4x in weight. I was thinking to even up their weighting and was wondering if you could get behind this move.
Q: I understand that you, generally, are not fans of ultra-short etfs and their ilk for various (very valid) reasons. However, if an exception were to be made, would it apply to the "Advisorshares Dorsey Wright Short"? Running it through the excellent Qtrade Portfolio Simulator in conjunction with my current portfolio produces excellent downside risk protection and diversification numbers with minimal reductions in performance, income and fee numbers. Your perspective would be much appreciated.
Regards
David
Q: You have thoughts about gold going forward? As a tangible asset instead of Bitcoin and other digital coins I have a strong feeling that gold might be at the beginning stages of a strong rally.
Some gold miners also have a good dividend as well. How did gold perform in history when we had inflation, recession, war, debt?
Please give us some insight here and what is the overall opinion from the analysts?
If there are three gold-companies to pick...which ones?
I like the idea of investing in the Data theme but would like to take the single co risk out by looking for an ETF that has several of the ones you like imbedded? Can you help me identify one (or more) please.
If none available, which 3-4 of the names you like would create a suitable basket?
Q: FYI the market value of FB/META is NOT included in your portfolio tracking data on Friday. For anyone reconciling portfolio tracking to banks etc will find they are out by this amount. Mike
