Q: Hi. I would like your opinion of osl.un. I have held it for a number of years and it has consistently paid a 5% dividend. Recently they announced that its forward agreement with BNS has expired in November. Since then the share price has gone down considerably. Would this be a good time to sell off or is it just a blip that will correct itself later. My time frame before I have to start withdrawals is 3 years.
What does this "forward agreement" actually mean?

Q: I have 50% cash in my RRSP and I recently purchased a half position in Boardwalk REIT to take advantage of the large sell off. I would like to add U.S. multifamily housing exposure as well and I am debating between Tricon Capital Group and Milestone Group. Which would you prefer for U.S. housing exposure. I intend to hold the positions for the medium term (2-3 years).

Q: I would think that as the market continues to go down the chances of someone taking out CSE for a premium price goes down as well. If you owned CSE would you be selling today as a lot of better quality names have fallen in the last 10 days? THANKS

Q: Would you consider a rethink on the growth portfolio not only regards the constituent holdings but the whole portfolio as a percentage of the total investment? I ask this in light of the increasing probability of the following economic conditions:
1. The oil price remains depressed for the entire year with the western provinces in recession and the Canadian GDP also contracts for two quarters or more.
2. The steep decline in shale production and the rate increase in the US would have a significant negative impact on the Russell Index IWO which maybe in bear territory?
Assuming that any given individual’s investment in the growth portfolio is according to her risk profile, would you suggest adjustments to the overall portfolio weight (increase or decrease) in proportion to the balanced and income portfolios; and the individual growth stocks for 2016? If you would, then can you please try to indicate exposure to specific sectors/regions/stocks?

Q: Hi 5. Which USD currency etf would you suggest to protect against a falling CAD vs USD? I see DLR.TO might work. Is there a better/larger one that you are aware of? I am not interested in an etf that mirrors US equities or US fixed income, just the USD currency.

Q: If I may add a follow up to your reply to Michael. I presume people subscribe to your service because they believe, and rightly so, that one can outperform the tsx composite. Accordingly the fact that the TSX composite may or may not have been flat for the past 10 years is not really relevant. I suspect many of your subscribers have handily beat the tsx composite index over the 10 year period.

Q: Could you explain the difference between VSB & VSC and what your preference would be for a parking cash for the short term of 6 to 12 months and if you would recommend either? With thanks, Bill

Q: I currently have 2786 shares of DIV and enrolled in the Drip. It hit a 52 week low today. Any concerns with this? My weighting is 2.84% Also a news release reported that management will take compensation in restricted shares. Is this a positive long term?

Q: Big move on DIV today, down 8% as I write this. I have not found any news that would cause this, I can't see the crude move having this big of a one day effect. Good volume too. Appreciate an education here if i'm missing something, thanks.

Q: Canadian bio stocks getting slaughtered today. CXR, CRH, MSL, PLI all down 7-9%. Concordia was down over 5% Friday and over 8% Thursday. Why has the market suddenly decided these stocks are not worth owning? What is your view on this sector? Concordia has just lost over 20% in just three days.

Q: XTR pays a dividend of 6.99% currently. What is your opinion of a new retiree purchasing this ETF and holding it in a TFSA account? Would it be better to hold it in an RRSP or margin account? Q: SJ Down 5% today.Is there any specific news or because of a poor market?It has been a great performer reaching a $54 high in Dec.I bought it @ $27.50--thanks to your recommendation-,so should I take some profit now in this market,do nothing or buy more.It is about 3% of my portfolio & in my RSP a/c.Appreciate your normal great services & views.
